So, you wanna have Pro Portrait Photography-Taking Skills, huh?

Well, this begins first with the style of communication you choose to use with your subject. You need to be able to feel them out and develop a connection with them so that they trust you with that camera of yours. If you can get them to open up, they will certainly respect you as an artist, and will therefore feel more comfortable when you are actively photographing them.

T I P S . & . T R I C K S

1. Take the time to learn your camera settings!!! Being able to expose for light is a technical area that cannot be overlooked.

b. photonhead

c. camera metering & exposure

2. Be willing to get dirty. Trying new and fresh angles always improves the visual interest of a portrait. If you have to lay in the mud to get the best angle, do it! It isn't just the 'camera angle' it is also the photographer's body position.

3. Don't be afraid of digital retouching, but also don't overdo it! Post production can be the difference between a good photograph and a great one, if it is done with care.

b. Adobe BW Conversion

F E A T U R E S

A good way to learn new techniques is to study a piece and try to figure out certain aspects: where is the light coming from? How does the photographers' body positioning appear in relationship to the subject?

Here is some amazing portrait photography that will surely get you inspired. :)
