Featured Product Shots!

`robert:iconrobert: reports, December 15, 2006

Have you ever wondered what the products in our Shop actually look like? Dumb question, of course you did.
We finally have a range of quality photos of our various print and merchandise products to give you an idea of them with our deviant artists' work printed on them.

Photo credits go to our very own %achfoo and %fangedfem.

Photo Prints
Images are printed on Fujicolor® Crystal Archive II paper which uses a silver halide process and RA4 chemistry, mimicking the traditional analog printing process. Instead of negatives, our digital mini-labs use lasers to expose the paper and produce prints that rival and even surpass those originating from film images. Results are generally identical to or superior to prints from film. This paper boasts a life expectancy of over 75 years when taken care of correctly. Glossy and Matte finishes are available on all prints, including the new Fujifilm® Lustre® finish, striking a gorgeous balance between the previous two options.

Canvas Prints
Canvas prints are created with a commercial grade professional printer, which features a Micro Piezo DX3™ print head and uses 7-color, pigment-based UltraChrome™ Ink. In order to produce the highest quality product possible, images are printed on Premier Art™ Water Resistant canvas that has been created especially for enlarged portrait and fine art printing. This surface features a true canvas texture with a fine finish. Canvas prints have a Giclee Satin Matte coating. The UltraChrome™ ink is archival and it is oil based. It is also resin coated for longevity. The coating is water based. It has a UV protectant and sealant to help make it water-resistant. The inks and the coating have UV protection. Canvas Prints are stretched mounted on a sturdy wood frame.

I'd like to add that a great thing about the mugs is that the image is under the glaze (right term?), so that you don't have to worry about it flaking off over time like some mugs do.
