Luna-NYX and won =
Manip-Equips Spooky Stock Contest.

How did it feel to win the Spooky Tales contest?
Very surprising (but very good of course)! I'm still speechless
It was well deserved. Why did you decide to start a stock/brushes account?
I started taking pictures to use as references in my painting. As I got more interested in digital art, I started to appreciate other peoples stock accounts. When my collection grew, I thought other people might also find a use for my pictures, and enjoy them as Ive enjoyed the stock accounts I used.
Later, Ive also appreciated the stock work as a chance to be someone else once in a while. A kind of theatre maybe, where I can express special feelings and situations.
As for the brushes, I was quite amazed by the creative power they provide. It makes little sense to keep them for myself, when they are made and usable for others as well.
Generally, its a great pleasure seeing how much magnificent (and different) art comes to life using mine and other resources.
Very generous. Who are you models and how do you work together?
I dont really have any proper human models (apart from myself), just my cat Lurifax (not always very cooperative), various horses and insects and whatever other things Mother Nature provides.
What makes a good stock in your opinion?
Difficult question, we are so different every one of us (fortunately)! Of course the technical should be as good as you can get it (such as lighting, camera and background etc..) But what makes a good stock depends on the art you wish to create; do you want a special feeling, a special pose, expression, costume, theme etc..? So my conclusion is that every stock picture have a potential, its up to the artist to find it!
What inspires you?
I get my inspiration from imagination, dreams and emotions, as well as impressions from the world around me. (And also from the history and myths!)
What is your artistic education?
Art course at upper secondary school (1999-2003)
Full time student at Fabrikken Asker Kunstfagskole in Norway (2003-2005)
What's your favorite field of art to work with?
Traditional oil painting remains my true passion

Luna-NYX
What's your favorite piece of art and/or stock that you've done?
I think my favorite stock picture Ive have done is Horse and Rider - 04
and Greek mythology - The Fates because they were a challenge to make!

My favorite piece of art Ive done is currently the traditional piece Caged In and for photo manipulations I have to say Not Afraid and Destiny.
Do you use your own stock/brushes?
Yes
Do you have some tips and tricks for a stock user?
Dont be afraid to mess it up, just play, have fun and learn of your mistakes! That is the road to become a secure artist and to find your own way of expression, in my opinion!
Is there any special story attached to one of your pieces?
There are lots of personal stories behind much of my work, many of which are best left untold. I want people to be able to use my pictures in their own stories, and let them speak in their own language.
Smart advice. Who are your favorite artists around dA?
The fact that dA is an international community means there is great diversity and a wealth of expressions of all kinds. This has meant A LOT to me and my own work, and I greatly appreciate everything Ive gained through dA. Ive been very fortunate to come across lots of artists who have touched me, and some of these can be seen among my favorites
