Ongoing Projects: fotoFriday
Under the guidance of our very own `
youthculture the *
fotoFRIDAY project continues. Every week a new issues is posting, which you can read about on their page or in the
Literature News Section regularly.
Right now they are having their
Holiday Special, so make sure to and give it a try, and a look at all the entries at the end of the week.
Happy Friday.
Forum Threads
The forums are usually an interesting place to interact with old and new writers around the community. Here are some of the more active threads in the last few weeks:

Submission Process
Earlier in the month the new Submission system was released to the dA public. This new process eliminates the need go through multiple pages and lists of categories, instead making it all on one easy and quick submission form. For literature, it does mean a few noticeable changes, but should give writers more freedom in how they prepare their work.
There are still a few bugs here and there, but we are making sure that any problems are addressed as quickly as possible. You can submit a +
helpdesk ticket if required.
One of the major issues we are hearing about is the previews, which states that one is required for submission. This is misleading, and will be changed, because
previews are not required to submit literature right now.
For more information please see
FAQ #286: How do I submit Literature?
Literature Workshop Forums
For a long time now, we've had a few threads in the Literature Forums that allow people to post their poetry and prose to be workshopped by other artists. This was meant to be a temporary fill for an eventual forum that would house all the workshops for literature. Now, we have that forum.
The Literature Workshop Forum will allow writers to post a thread with their work, and others can simply post their thoughts and critiques. Make sure to read to
read the guidelines for posting before creating a thread.
You can also find the forum by click on the Forum button on the top of the page and using the Categories menu. All Galleries -> Literature Workshop Forum will lead you right to where you need to go.
We will be adjusting the rules and guidelines over the coming weeks, and if you'd like to give some input into that, please be sure to drop a note to either myself or ^
imperfect and we will do our best to help you out.
Digital to Physical
With all the updates coming to the prints system, there are a lot of people within the literature community that have been wondering exactly what this will do for us. Well, if you haven't already heard, there are developments underway specifically for literature, allowing for on-demand printing. This is all part of the Prints II initiative, and we should have more concrete news for you very soon. Stay tuned.
Did You Know?
This feature is devoted to some things about dA and the literature community that you may or may not know. Things we've been asked and answered, and thought we'd share with everyone.
Did you know that the "This user is no longer a member of deviantART" pages can indicate not only a banned user, but someone who has asked for their account to be closed, as well?
Did you know that if you submit an idea or a project to any of the Gallery Directors looking for some support, we will very often offer up subscriptions and other help as needed?
Festive DD Suggestions
Now that the holidays are on their way, we would like to encourage that people look for, dig up and submit some suggestions for DDs that fit inline with the season. Litmas activities aside, it's nice to see some Daily Deviations that suit the spirit, and if you've got something you see that really fits well, we'd love to see it, too.

Don't let the couple of extra mouse-clicks to the PDF put you off reading this play the whole way through - I would pay to see this put on stage. Similarly, don't let your own trials and tribulations in jobseeking get in the way of thoroughly enjoying
Help Wanted: A Comedy... for what it is - a funny, cathartic, and much-needed jab at the job market. Despite showing such obvious contempt for the hypocrisies and idiosyncrasies of the recruitment world, there is also an undertone of quiet desperation in this play, and anyone remotely familiar with the frustrations of career jobseeking will have no trouble sympathising with ~
ninja-librarian's characters.
