After some aruous work, and a few minutes of snooping here is what I found:
New things in PS CS3:
Auto-blending layers
Auto-alligning layers
Smart filter possibility
Similar layers
Diffuse glow (filter)
Somewhat better posterization
Reticulation (filter)
Much better spherization filter
Pattern maker
a few new interesting styles (rain or snow for example)
Refined edges (wich I find very handy, especially for photograhpers because of a neat type of quick mask)
The quick selection tool (kind of like a magnetic lasso tool but more fitting for guys who work with a tablet.)
The patch tool
Layer comps settings
Automation: picture package,Adobe media gallery, conditional mode change
Alltogether a new layout wich digi-painters will find quite attractive. The interface pretty much stayed the same, given or taken a few things. It looks cleaner and less cluttered than CS2.Loading time is good, but I guess it couldn't be anything else with 2 gigs RAM memory.Haven't got any crashes wich I find very good. This time, they guys at Adobe labs went for less optics more practics and performance.Yet taken aside all of the new gizmos,CS3 doesn't bring major improvement overall,in my oppinion.A question remains unanswered to me... What will the other CS3 products look and feel like? Because this one feels like a new wolf in the same old sheep skin.
I might have skipped some things as I wrote this review,so bare with me.The info I provided here is only from one point of view wich may not necessarily be the most relevant after all.

Also, I haven't tried out the auto-blending. What's the benefit here? (In other words, in what circusmtances might you use it?)
Thanks!

Intel Pentium 4, Intel Centrino, Intel Xeon, or Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor
Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista
320MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
64MB of video RAM
650MB of available hard-disk space
1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
DVD-ROM drive
Internet or phone connection required for product activation
QuickTime 7 software required for multimedia features
Now that's what CS2 presumably needed too... but to make it run smoothly, you'd really need about 1 gig RAM memory... You can draw the conclusions yourself !
