Yes..the world lost a talented performer and artist in Michael Jackson..but there are many more tragic deaths occurring daily all over the world that go unnoticed. Please give these heroes your prayers and thanks too.

Even in times of war, the Soldier as an individual is of no consequence. The Soldier is a symbol, a simple pawn in a culture war. The Soldier is either a villain, or a Hero. The Soldier always serves for the honor of his country, not his paycheck. The Soldier is faithful, as there are 'no atheists in the trenches'. The Soldier is Combat Arms. The Soldier is male, he married a young white girl, and he has a baby on the way, whom he has never met.
The Soldier is a romantic ideal.

reports, December 20, 2006Well well well, I never expected this to happen. Time Magazine has been a bunch of pansies and done the worst thing they could in choosing this year's Person of the Year...they picked US, the people of the Information Age! I never thought they'd be so afraid of what would happen to them in picking someone slightly more controversial (i.e. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - President of Iran), but that's exactly what has happened it would seem! They were afraid of the national community's reaction to picking someone so opposed to the United States. They need to get a spine over there at Time and just pick whoever they want for person of the year, not try to please the nation and take the easy way out by picking everyone.
I think picking someone like Ahmadinejad would have been quite a profound decision, but he has had a major impact on the world this year, which is what makes a Person of the Year so important. Therefore he is very deserving of the title Talon22's Person of the Year 2006.
