Insects... When was the last time you have shown them some love?
We greet these poor little creatures with no more than "Oh my God! Kill it, KILL IT!", while they have done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment (in most cases, anyway).
I have decided to show these guys some appreciation!

BUTTER! A story of DA's new "socialist movement"

=alexiuss:iconalexiuss: reports, 20h 45m ago
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing...
A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!

Traditional Art of 2006

~PineappleFairy:iconPineappleFairy: reports, December 31, 2006
These are the best pieces of traditional art of 2006 in my humble opinion. I decided to pay some homage to traditional artists. Alot of the artwork that gets the most views on DA is digital media. Or photography. Im a digital artist myself. But I have such high respect for traditional artists. Makes me wanna bust out some paint or makeup or something.

FAQ #565: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic material'; what do you consider this to be?

This FAQ will outline which submissions are appropriate for deviantART. I would like to point out that not only are they against dA policy, it's not very well put out if you put it in a news article. (two of the images here are inappropriate for dA)

Now, on the article itself, I don't think you put very much thought into the variety of images that you have displayed here. There are many features out today with the new News submission process, so please take a look at a few of those and see how people put their features together. There is usually a form of variety, theme or organization that takes place.

I have high respect for traditional artists as well as any other artist out there, and I think you could have chosen a lot better pieces for this type of article (not to demean your opinion). I hope that you will consider other pieces for any future feature articles you would like to display to the whole of dA via the news. You might want to consider getting a subscription and using your journal for these type of things.

Artists have been breaking the rules for as long as theres been artists. If they didnt...art wouldnt be where it is today. Or freedom of speach.

I think that you're missing the point of what I was trying to say in my comment. You see, artists do break rules and boundaries as to what they can create or what they do with their artwork. But, on dA, it's not about what you create, it's what you present in your gallery that's acceptable or not. The images that you have featured here are not acceptable according to dA's rules and policy. They will most likely be removed (unless thought otherwise by gallery directors/others above myself) as I have reported them as a policy violation. In my opinion dA allows many things that are art, but some things escape the boundary too much. There's a line as to what's sex-related art and what's vulgar. Not to disprove any opinion or bit of taste you may have, I think that you should have been more careful about which pieces you choose as some of the ones you have featured are against the policy that dA has followed for a very long time.
~PineappleFairy:iconPineappleFairy: Dec 31, 2006, 11:56:55 PM
Whos to say whats acceptable? As long as nobody is being physically hurt in the process I dont see the problem. There are people that would consider pin-ups vulgar and would be offended by seeing them. But we arent going to ban those. Art pushes buttons. It always has. Thats the beauty of it. Expression of emotions and sometimes its cheeky and just overall fun. Im not gonna knock anything that someone considers art. Its all in the eye of the beholder. Ultimately.
