What are artisan crafts? These are works of art that are created in many mediums such as sculpture, jewelry, woodworking, metal and leatherworks, textiles, custom dolls and much more.

”The ArtisanCraft Community is open to all artisans, from beginners to advanced, any media. The purpose of this club/community is to showcase our work, share tips and thoughts - to improve our skills and creativity and to get to know each other better. The goal is to achieve a higher level of design and craftsmanship, therefore support, cheering and encouraging from the members is greatly appreciated.”

This group is really fascinating to watch, this community is unique because each work of art has been crafted by two artists and the end result is a truly a melding of the minds. Here, I’d like to share the history of the group and some of the pieces from their gallery. Please do not add favorites from this article of the works shown here... as two individuals create each piece and credit needs to be given to them. You can find the artists involved in the description of the pieces that are featured. (thanks!)

**History of the EC.

" a-neon-devil-breath joined Deviantart.com February 18th 2004. She posted a few drawings and started getting some positive responses. December 22nd of 2004, *Bernardumaine started watching her. She didn’t watch him until February 6th 2005. By this time they had been talking quite a bit about art and the seeds of the exquisite corpse began.

a-neon-devil-breath recalls… "Bernardumaine and I decided to collaborate on a project. Four days ago I received a package from France. In it was a drawing covered very tightly with a stiff board, exposing only about 3/4 of an inch of his drawing and the rest of the right side of the paper was blank. I took it from there and finished the right side. This is the result!"



"TheExquisiteCorpse continues to evolve with the needs of the members. And it is more and more obvious that it is becoming an important force on the web. Other forums such as “an exquisite corpse” and Jon Beinart's "The Surreal and Visionary Art Forum, to name a couple"

One huge problem we have had is that incredibly talented members join, but are too shy to ask another member to collaborate with them.... This shyness continues to be our only real problem. Most of our collaborators have an emotional response when they take the cover off their partner's side after they have finished. One member wrote "this is the second one of these we have done, this time i did the second half...seeing it finished (removing the cover of the part they had already finished) was an experience beyond words...for those of you who haven't tried Exquisite Corpse collaborations, I highly recommend it...it really is a new experience in art."

What is an Indigo Child?

”Indigo Children are the current generation being born today. They are different. They have very unique characteristics that set them apart from previous generations of children. The name itself indicates the Life Color they carry in their auras and is indicative of the Third Eye Chakra, which represents intuition and psychic ability. These are the children who are often rebellious to authority, nonconformist, extremely emotionally and sometimes physically sensitive or fragile, highly talented or academically gifted and often metaphysically gifted as well, usually intuitive, very often labeled ADD, either very empathic and compassionate OR very cold and callous, and are wise beyond their years. About 85% or higher of children born in '92 or later are Indigo Children! Does this mean you aren't one if you were born prior to 1992? No! There are reports that they started coming in the 80s, but that means coming in larger numbers. So can you be a 24 yr old Indigo or a 50 year old one? Yes!”

“Inspiration for this project was from – “PostSecret” …The ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. We are not in any way affiliated with PostSecret but would like to call DeviantArtSecret a “Spin-off” project that was inspired by it. Check out the PostSecret website and buy the book [link] .

Each secret can be a regret, hope, funny experience, unseen kindness, fantasy, belief, fear, betrayal, erotic desire, feeling, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything - as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before.

Make an image out of any material using your creativity. The end result must be in a .jpg format image file that you email to DeviantArtSecret@gmail.com. Put your complete secret on the image by using words or by other creative means.

You can make an image on the computer, or a drawing that you scan in, or a digital photo you take. It can even be a 3D sculpture you make but then you will have to take a photo of it.

Use only one image for one secret. If you want to share more than one secret, submit multiple images. Every Secret will be posted as long as it fallows the rules already set forth by DeviantArt and that it is a .jpg file.

The secrets will be 100% anonymous. The image will NOT be linked to any ones account. You do not need to use your email address you use for DeviantArt. So you can use a completely anonymous and unrelated one to use to send your secret to DeviantArtSecret. Do not write somone's full name or DeviantArt Screen name on the secret. Nicknames and first names are ok but not really wanted because it is possible that the secret can be connected to the person who sent the secret or to a person that the secret may be about.

Tips:
Be brief and to the point - the fewer words used the better.
Be legible - use big, clear and bold lettering so you can read it.
Be creative – This is a community Art website so it should be very creative.

This group is a treasure for all manipulation and stock artists alike. The encourage membership from everyone that has a need for quality stock photos, textures, tutorials or brushes. The group thrives on the contributions from the dA community and also hosts contests, monthly member artist features, is power packed with incredible resources and also provides a place for deviants that are interested in working on collaborative projects to find a partner. All the tools one would need to equip themselves with the knowledge, and encouragement in the field of photo manipulation artistry can be found here!
