As the links at the bottom of this feature will show, the DA news section is in the throes of a Fashion Fever. And who am I not to add to that?!
In this one-off feature (unless it's really popular and I'm encouraged to do more in the future
), I'll be moving a bit away from the norm and focusing on men as models. Why? Because, despite the proliferation of female models, male models do exist! And they can be used to the best effect - in a wide range of high quality photos, as I hope the below selections will prove.
A couple of notes:
I only selected photos from the Photography > People & Portraits > Fashion Portraits category. I considered also going to the Photography > Commercial Photography > Fashion category as well, but it was already hard enough culling down results from my initial search to get the results you see above.
This is by no means meant to be a conclusive collection of the 'best' male fashion shots on DA. I had a few things in mind when selecting these, particularly quality and variety (of photographic and fashion styles, poses, themes, etc.), but I also wanted to represent both well-known and not-so-well-known artists and photos.
If you like this feature idea, you can do two things:
- Fave it!
- Comment! On the feature article itself would be great, but it'd be even better if you took the time to go and let these photographers know that you like their work. As with any feature article, if it's not the artists getting the real attention then it's not doing its job.
Like I said above, this is a one-off feature. The idea was initially spawned by =ssecret's weekly fashion feature, so credit should be given where credit's due. But if you'd like to see future editions of this feature then let me know - I might be convinced to sporadically do more of them.
