Tips and Tricks in Learning Photography

~thespiritofthewolves:iconthespiritofthewolves: reports, January 18, 2007
Tips:

1)When photographing an animal or plant get down or up to it's leven. Such as if you are taking a pic of a horse make it to where you are at eye level with it. If you are taking a pic of something such as a rabbit lat in your stomach and get to eye level. For a plant get to the level of the part you want to picture to be of.

2)If you are taking a picture of the sun/skyscape I recomand that you don't use flashe. This increases the glare and sometimes can make the whole picture white.

3) If you are taking a picture of something such as snow don't just face you camera down and take the pic because then it looks like a blank picture. Try to make sure it has something like a bush or tree.

4) When photographing people don't always make them smile. A person doesn't always smile so you should take pictures of someone being sad or just doing normal things.

5) If you have and action setting on your camera it is best to set it on that if it is snowing, raining, or hailing because then it catches most of the snowflakes, ice, and raindrops.

6)Try to avoid digital zoom. Digital zoom makes the picture undetailed and not as you wanted it to be. Dogilal zoom may seem like it is helping you get closer but really it is ruining the picture.

Tricks:

1) Even if it is not night some cameras with night settings will take better pictures when set to the night setting.

2) When taking pictures of waterfalls and streams try to get as much scenery around it as possibly but not so much that it is distracting you from the main thing. To do this do half zoom in so that you cut out quite a bit but not to much.

3) When something is moving follow it with your camera. This will sometimes make everything in the background blurry but it will make your subject clear.

4) Try to isolate your subjuct so there are no distracting backgrounds. Things like bright colors and other things make people focus not only of the subject but of the background to.

I hope these tips and tricks help you! Thanks for reading!

I found this interesting, and since I'm not a photographer, I now do have something in the brains before trying to take brilliant pics :D

I love the tips, especially the animal one. So many people do the lazy way and would prefer to take a shot from where they stand.

This is helpful. I'm a film photographer and from 1 roll I only get 2 or 3 shots that will pass as good, that is if I'm lucky.
