Hello, deviantART. =
Mew-Sumomo here.
Okay, here goes. Now more than ever, fellow anime/manga artists and several other artists on deviantART are complaining about lack of originality and creativity in anime-style art. What I am hoping for is to showcase some art that is truly worth seeing because it breaks the boundaries of what's normally expected of anime/manga art on this site. Sure, there are enough features similar to this one, but I just want to see whether or not this will actually become a success. If so, I shall be on the lookout for some more amazing and unique anime/manga artworks!
The pieces I select for features will include a featured artist and several assorted features that are chosen based on composition, quality, and, of course, uniqueness. These pices are generally the ones that stand out amongst several other deviations submitted to the anime/manga category and thus deserve to be featured!

.:Spotlight:.

~
Akimoto-san

~Akimoto-san's gallery consists of some of the more unique anime-styled artworks I've seen in deviantART. Her artworks display a wonderful mixture of anime/manga and surrealism, making her deviations unique and pleasing to the eye as her talents for creating great composition and using colors are demonstrated in each piece, including her non-anime works as well. Please check her art out!

.:And I'll Dump Some Of My Work Here Too:.
Just for the heck of it. Eh. Also so you get to know who you're dealing with here. Please don't shoot me for self-promotion.

Tnank you for viewing this feature! There will be another feature sometime inthe next 1-2 weeks. If you feel that you want to submit a feature, please
note me with some features of your choice and I might just put it into the next issue. I
really hope I did a decent job; this is my first ever news article! Please tell me what I can improve as well! Sorry for so much shoujo art; please direct me to some non-shoujo artworks as well!
Guidelines for my features (so far):
No fanarts will be displayed. Unless it's really, I mean *really* good. One of the main things artists complain about here is that anime/manga art is lacking originality due to the excessive amount of fanart. The purpose of my article is to stay away from adding to the trend.
If you wanna feature yourself, feel free!
Only anime/manga artworks will be featured here; the majority will be traditional art. I only fave digital art or will feature it if I believe it is exceptional.

Thanks for looking, guys!

The statement below is true.
The statement above is false.
Even so, those are pretty well-done~
if i made my own original anime art, i'd use non-hentai-type drawings.
the only reason why i don't draw my own original art is cuz i can't color well unlike you. i was never able to color very well. starting when i was 2, when i started drawing. lol XD

Art ennobles the soul even if the art in question is far from perfect.
