Poetry Feature #65

*TheFavoritesProject:iconTheFavoritesProject: reports, July 13
We've featured 65 poems since we opened our satellite account in 2007! Another one of the poems we featured received a DD before we had a chance to post it, so we posted two features this week. View the most recent feature here, as well a list of all the previous poems featured by TFP. If you like what you see, than devwatch the account because we feature a new one every week! No membership is required.

SUSPICIOUS 007-ACTIVITY!

~007-WriteOff:icon007-WriteOff: reports, January 25, 2007
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES!

This group of overtly happy individuals have been observed passing cryptic messages - known as deviations - to each other, around which they like to congregate to share exuberantly jovial and encouraging responses.

BEWARE!

We're pretty sure these 007-people are carrying some horribly infectious fun-virus, the symptoms of which seem to be an incurable obsession with writing, the abundant usage of cheerful emoticons and worst of all ---

SOME OF THEM HAVE SHAGADELIC ICONS!

Yes! As if they weren't odd enough, they also appear to be slowly adopting the use of intensely-coloured icons, which dazzle the eyes and brighten the page. This may be some sort of bizarre bonding ritual, though rumour has it that - when licked - the icons impart a strange sense of well-being, as well as hallucinations involving five-legged ducks and publisher's checks with many zeros.

:spotlight-left: WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT :spotlight-right:

~007-WriteOff is a project to encourage people to write daily , based on the NaPoWriMo and NaNoWriMo concepts except that instead of running for one month, it goes all year. The idea is to write as often as you can and visit the pages of others to offer encouragement and support. Critique isn’t important, as most of the work will be in rough draft form, but there are a lot of folk willing to offer advice, should you want it.

:star: You can pick a particular month in which to write every day or just add something every few days throughout the year. It's all up to you. If you do choose a particular month, be sure to drop a line about it on the main page, so we can put you on the list of writers for that month and all know to come cheer you on!

Keep in mind, this is not just a place for polished, shiny deviations. It's for rough drafts, moments of inspiration and reams of waffle that hopefully you can draw upon later when writing for your main gallery.

:star: At time of writing, ~007-WriteOff has 37 members, and over 170 deviations have been posted since 1st of January. We hope you'll drop by and check us out, read through our member's galleries and maybe even join the fun!

:spotlight-left: WE ARE ALSO CLUB

:bulletred: If you want to join, you need to make a ~007-WriteOff account, or use an existing NaPoWriMo or NaNoWriMo account (please let us know, if this is the case).

:bulletred:The account must start with 007- with your regular username after the dash. (For example: ~007-salshep , ~007-NovembreChuchote ).

:bulletred: Then put ~007-WriteOff on watch, and we'll watch you back.

:bulletred: Existing NaPo accounts will be accepted, regular galleries won't. There's several reasons for this. The sheer volume of devs going through ~007-WriteOff, added to those of a regular gallery, means that the devwatch boxes in the accounts of active members would soon become utterly swamped (those doing January can attest to how hectic it gets). Too, the 007-tag is doing a great job of encouraging a real community feel for the club, our members all very proud to feel a part of something unique.

:spotlight-left: THE OFFICIAL 007 CHATROOM

:star: That's right folks, we have our own chatroom, OHOHBEHAVE

Feel free to drop in, hang out, tune up your submissions or just chit-chat about writing and .. stuff. The room is open to everyone.

~007-WriteOff - For When WriMo Just Isn't Enough. YEAH, BABY!!!

Hey, how come you guys chose 007, anyway? Is it supposed to signify the year 2007, or was it just random? Or do you just all have weird James Bond fetishes?

Really, it was the year. Though the 007-tag quickly became a good excuse for some Bond/Austin Powers silliness.

As to our fetishes... Let's just say it's classified. ;)

This message will self-destruct in 30 seconds.
