hexentanz and I have noticed since the addition of new Help Desk access points we are seeing a lot of new faces and as such I would like to take the opportunity to refresh everyone on the
Category system on the Help Desk. When submitting a Help Desk ticket you are given several categories to put your inquiry in. These categories are looked at by two teams the Help Desk Team which is $
hexentanz and myself and the CEA Team which consists of$
realitysquared and ©
damphyr.
The Help Desk Team answers the following categories:
Bug Report
Chat Inquiry
Subscription Inquiry
deviantWEAR Inquiry
FAQ Correction
FAQ Suggestion
Gallery Section Addition
General Help
Site Suggestion
The CEA Team answers the following categories:
Account Closure Request
Policy Inquiry
Report Harassment
Ban Inquiry
What if you are not sure which category to place your ticket in? If you are not sure which category to place your ticket in you can read
FAQ #264: Is there a description of the Help Desk categories? In addition to reading this FAQ we also have 2 generic categories put in place if none of the categories are suitable. The first generic category is called General Help. This category is for any general questions that would not need CEA assistance in the matter. The second category is Policy Inquiry. This category is for any matters that would need CEA attention. "But what if I put my category in the wrong section, should I send another one in the correct section?" Don't fret. If you do accidentally submit your ticket in the wrong category, it will be redirected to who ever it needs to go to so you will not have to resubmit your ticket. If you do happen to submit your ticket in the wrong category, it could cause some delays in the handling of your case.

A couple of these FAQs regarding the agressive compliance to COPPA and the banishments have been around for a while.
The one thing is that if all 14,000+ deviants who have their current age as displayed as today's date after 1994, via commentary, journal, DevID, etc would have their account closed without warning and it can almost always lead to ban evasion...possibly in a endless matter.
The worse thing is that deviants who maybe under 13 and even don't have a profile, never made a comment regarding the age, journal entry, etc., may eventually get closed on the administrators' own.
I had a feeling that dA was trying to ban as few deviants as possible, but that might not be the case after all.
Oh well.
