Hi there!

This challenge is something i started recently and just showcased for my watchers but i want to try to get as many people involved as possible. Each monday i will post a new journal update with a new weekly challenge and if things go well i'll also post a news article every week with the new challenge. The aim is to try something new! I will post the first challenge at the bottom. I am going to try to give as much variety as i can and as this idea develops more, i will focus alot on getting you to use the art elements (tone, line, colour etc.)

Welcome to the MANSONGOTHIC Challenge!!

This is an ongoing challenge that is open to anyone wanting to be involved. It is NOT a competition and there is no deadline for anything. Everything can be done at your own pace and you DO NOT have to complete EVERY challenge.

How to get involved
Send me a note with "JOIN CHALLENGE" in bold. Like i said you do not have to be involved in EVERY challenge but i'd like to keep a list of people who are going to be involved for my own reference.
If you complete any piece that involves something found here, all i ask is that you link to me or my journal and credit all appropriate people (found at the bottom of each challenge). If possible say somewhere what the challenge involved and send me a link so i can see how people are going.
At the end of the month (maybe two) i will feature all the best art or prose that i think really tried to follow the challenge guidlines of that particular piece for the one/two months.

Open To...
Absolutely anyone ! Digital artists, photographers, traditional artists, prose artisits and all inbetween. Some challenges may apeal to some more than others but its all up to you whether to be involved or not! I will add with each challenge who i am directing each one at but like i said ANYONE can give these a go. Its even a good idea if your normally a prose artist to try out some traditional art. The same goes to everyone!

Suggest a challenge and Helping
I am looking for ANYONE who wants to suggest a serious challenge for the week or anyone who wants to help out. Whether it be giving lineart or stock for others to use or simply suggesting something (ALL appropriate credit WILL be given).

CHALLENGE ONE
TEAPOTS


First challenge will have something to do with teapots. I wanted something simple to get this challenge going and becasue i simply ADORE teapots i chose this as our first entry. I want you to look at the shape, the lighting and the pattern on this. Try to look closey and see how the different tones vary from light to dark around the shape of the teapot giving its 3D appearance.
The main task is to draw something involving teapots. The main focus HAS to be the teapot and the attention you give to its shading and tone and how real it looks. The detail on the teapot doesn't have to be the flowers, try to make it have a significant symbol that is personal to you.
This stock can be used however you like as long as it remains the focus and that you keep note of the lighting.
