When film photography was the only photography, photographers occasionally bid farewell to preferred film types, but such good-byes typically coincided with the introductions of the next, the best, and the latest and greatest replacement films. Today, when film types disappear from the retail shelves for good, it is to be hoarded by the lovers of those film types and then to be not so quietly forgotten. Polaroid photography enthusiasts have been hit particularly hard by such losses. They've said good-bye to types 85, 88, 89, 87, 665, and more. Most recently, they have bid farewell to the longtime manufactured and much beloved Time-Zero film. Once Fingerhut® acquired Polaroid, it was clear that, though it wanted the benefits of Polaroid's name, it didn't want the commitment of continuing the products with which the Polaroid name is synonymous. Now rumors are circulating that all films smaller than 5x4 are slated to get the axe. Whether or not these rumors are true, the groans have begun on the forums, and users are once again beginning to stockpile their favorite films.

If you just love to appreciate Polaroid photography on deviantART, now is the time to search for and favorite those Polas, because as the film supplies dwindle, the Polaroid deviations will recede to the "Way Back" recesses of deviantART. Time-Zero is running out.
