10 ways to Express Art – Part I

*ninaste:iconninaste: reports, 20h 41m ago
10 Ways to Express Art is a project started by *ninaste =Derzorvadur and *ki-liana in order to promote good work of 5 specific categories in Deviant, these being Traditional, Digital art (Photomanipulation), Digital Painting (Vectors), Literature, and Photography. this is ONLY for the sake of art, no favoritism or popularity has anything to do with this, only REAL good art will enter in these articles, and the art exposed in here is what we personally consider the best of the best.

[ This was translated from French with a program and I corrected the errors myself . I usually speak French, English is my 3rd language and I'm only 14 , so if you find an error just tell me , okay ? ]

URGENT!! ACTION AGAINST THE CLIMATIC CHANGES ! It’s about time that they hear our voices.

What do you think of it? Let’s close our lights on February 1st, 2007 from 7:55 pm to 8o’ clock .Participate at the biggest mobilization of citizens against the Climatic Change! The alliance for the Planet (grouping of environmental associations) throws a simple call to all citizens, 5 minutes of silence for the planet: everybody close their lights on February 1st, 2007 between 7:55 pm and 8 o’ clock at your local hour. It is not about saving 5 minutes of electricity solely that day, but to attract the attention of the citizens, the medias and decision-makers on the waste of energy and the emergency to do something about it! 5 minutes of silence for the planet: it doesn't take a long time, that doesn't cost anything, and that will show to the candidates in the legislative elections of June 2007 that the climatic change is a topic that must weigh in the political debate.

Why February 1st? That day , in Paris, the new report of the group of climatic experts of the United Nations will be “publish”. This event will take place at our neighbors: it is not necessary to let pass this opportunity to aim the spotlights on the emergency of the world climatic situation.

If we all participate , this action will have a real impact on the media and political scale , some months before the elections in France and long enough before the elections in Quebec and in Canada , so that that we can influence the debates between the politicians. For every time zone around the world, lights will die out between 7:55 pm and 8 o’ clock... the hour where this demonstration will be able to be observed by the local medias. One will be able to follow the successive “blackouts” at all hours according to the different time zones.

What ever your country is , our governments will be challenged by our common strength.

Translate this message in your language of origin and send this call to everyone around you and in all your networks! Also make it appear on your Internet site and in your news letters.

Contact / information: Cyrielle, The Friends of the Earth (in France) :00 33 1 48 51 18 95.

Come on everybody, this won’t take long , 5 small minutes....

[My dad read on Yahoo! that in France on February 1st at 7:55 pm to 8 o' clock , they will close the lights in the Eiffel Tower ! ]

I have no idea what Category this goes in , so whatever .

i agree with ppgrainbow. i dont think this applies to artists on deviantart, since the news should be involving a wide scale of the community and most of da's residents are not only in france, and will not share the same time zone understanding ;)

I thought it was newsworthy enough, and there was mention of this being more than just a French and/or Canadian thing.

If you wanna be a stickler about it, maybe have people take those five minutes to draw in the dark, and then post what they made after the blackout's over? :)
`astarsia:iconastarsia: Jan 31, 2007, 3:41:19 AM
well you should suggest it as a community project, but then it should belong in your journal, not in the news. and i wasnt being a "stickler" whatever that may mean. i was just informing you that it isnt exactly relevant to deviantart.

Well I can't put it in my journal 'cause I only have 2 watchers and 1 of them already knows ... so that would help the "project" to go world wide ... ^^'
*lili-yajuujo:iconlili-yajuujo: Jan 31, 2007, 1:46:20 PM
Well, not informing me, as it wasn't my news piece. ^^;

I still think anything done on a global scale is relevant simply because it's about media and political impact, which art is always a big part of anyway, but I'll agree to disagree here.
