Project: It's Personal



About the Project:

It's hard, sometimes, to tell people how you are feeling. It's difficult, sometimes, to let people know about something you are going through that is private, personal, and even heart-breaking. Sometimes words just aren't enough.

The object of this project is to create a piece of artwork that shows the world (deviantART) some portrayal of a highly personal experience you've had to go through. It is true, that life isn't always the easiest, and we often make it through the rough spots and keep going, but what happens to all of that baggage? It gets locked away. Especially, if it is truly a painful experience.

The Project Guidelines:

- The Theme: This project is about letting go of baggage by sharing it with others through your art, thus, your piece should be about something that has happened to you or something you are going through right now.

- What Medium to Use: Paintings, Drawings, Sculpture, Photomanipulation (with proper permissions and credits to whomever did the originals), photography-- pretty much ANYTHING goes-- the only thing that isn't allowed is writing. Works should be visual.

- What to Include: Please submit a new, project specific piece of artwork! Include the link to this news article in the description of your deviation. You can provide whatever amount of background information about your piece as you want, but if it is a vague piece, please shed some light on what it is you are depicting.

- Where/How to Submit: Send a note to =ArtisticAunJuli with a link to the deviation! (Yes, that's all!)

- Deadline: May 30, 2007 (12am EST)


Additional Information:

- Please direct all questions to =ArtisticAunJuli via NOTE.
- When submissions start coming in, there will be a journal posted with the thumbs.
- When the deadline is up, the thumbs will be moved to a news article for everyone to see.
- There are no prizes, it is a project, but the reward should be something that is deeper than a prize... the ability to express yourself wholly, fully, deeply, and honestly through your work.



I hope that through this project everyone release some of the emotion from past or present weighing them down, and share with others that they have gone through similar experiences-- They don't have to feel alone.
