The 8 year mark sees us with over 8 million deviants, over 60 million deviations and record breaking amounts of commentary from all across the site. We have sweet stuff happening all over the site. Introduction
Welcome to the weekly Help Desk news. In these weekly updates we will attempt to bring you the most up to date information, as well as provide some helpful hints for super duper deviantART fun.
Hexe's Corner
This week I would like to talk briefly on Bug Reporting, often when users contact us to report a bug and we ask for further details quite a few of you have become rather nasty with us. Please understand that when you report issues to us that we will need you to sometimes test a few things out so we're able to determine the exact cause for the issue you're having. Helping us to help you will mean that you receive the most up to date and effective assistance with your issues.

Ewm's Corner
This week I would like to remind everyone about the Preview button when you submit a Help Desk ticket. This feature allows you to preview your text and see the text exactly how we would see it in the desk.
Here are a few examples where the preview button would have come in handy.
"Policy Violation:
This deviation is a violation"
In this ticket, they forgot to add the link to the deviation they believe to be a violation.
(Please note, the above should only be done if you believe a whole gallery to be in violation or if something is in need of immediate attention (ie: porn). Please check out the FAQ; section Policies for what else would fall under reporting to the desk instead of using the Report Violation link.)
"General Help:
I would like to know why my deviation :thumb####: was moved to scraps."
In this ticket, they tried to show us the deviation but unfortunately, thumb codes will not work on the Help Desk. Instead of leaving a thumb code, it is best to link directly to the deviation.
"General Help:
I'm having an issue with the submission page [link] keeps timing out."
When comas and other letters are placed directly after a link without a space they will attach themselves with the link and break your url. By using the preview, you can check your links to make sure they all work properly.

In closing by using this tool, you can not only check to make sure your links have displayed properly, but check to make sure you have not left out any important information.
Weekly Tip
Did you know that you can disable your Activity log? You can. To do this you will need to go to your 'Edit Profile' page. From there you will need to click on the "User Page Display" tab. Once under this tab you will need to navigate to the 'User Page Elements' section; under this section you will want to uncheck the checkbox for the option entitled 'Make My Stats and Activity Public'. When done press on "OK" and this option will be changed.

Uggh! I shouldn't have said that.Also, why can the feature to submit software can be abused though and that it's no longer allowed?
There were 415 software programmes listed on dA according to the overall site statistics and its no longer updated.--
