CNN Money examines in depth the art site Etsy.com and the struggle it is currently facing to keep it's user base, fellow artist's like us on deviantART. It is a very interesting read, to say the least, and will surely raise a few eyebrows.

BUTTER! A story of DA's new "socialist movement"

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing...

Global warming... is it already too late?

~rd-signs:iconrd-signs: reports, February 8, 2007
It looks like the global warming it's a sure fact. It's happening now, in our lifetime. Till some days ago I was sure that the global warming is a slow but sure process. It looks like I'm wrong. It's not so slow!

This thing gives me a very bad head-ache. Is there any change we could stop this? Recent studies show that the global temperature will grow with up to 6.8 Celsius degrees till 2100. Will my son grow till then? Doesn't it sound horrifying? For me it is.

What can we do? I would like to know. From what I read I understood that we can't stop it... just slow it down. I'm very serious about this... but I can't believe my self either.

Here are some links you may visit just to get this better.

It doesn't help that the Government Accountability Office in the U.S. is suppressing the release of research results that doesn't conform to the current government's ideology. Hot button phrases such as Climate Change and Global Warming are being changed to easily overlooked and innocuous terms, some scientists are being denied access to conferences and media appearances are being cancelled, some have even had their data tampered with. 40% of climatologists studying Global Warming have reported this when questioned.

There is probably no teapot. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.
=Terame:iconTerame: Feb 8, 2007, 8:28:08 PM
6.8 degrees? That is the highest estimate I've seen.

Regardless, there is no reason to think that we can't make a difference, each of us (over 18) votes - and there are how many Deviants?

You can make a difference in your life and if you can THRIVE with your decisions, you'll inspire others.

We need to SELL the idea as something other than tie-died shirts, mung beans and no deodorant. Add that to voting for pro-green politicians, and it can be done.

Like the cliche goes.
Whether you think you can succeed or think you will fail.... Either way you're correct.
`BerylAlexandros:iconBerylAlexandros: Feb 8, 2007, 9:39:16 PM
I think at this point the best we can do is try to stop adding the problem and hope nature can correct the problem itself if we give it the chance.
