`SparrowSong on writing, critique and her passions

^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, September 28
An interview with writer, critic (critiquer?), lit senior, `SparrowSong. Here are some tidbits:

“I like that my passions change. If nothing else, it gives me more to write about.”

“Everyone has heard the expression, ‘Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ If you don’t learn to critique, you will always be dependent on others to help you instead of being able to do it by yourself.”

“Art changes how we view the surface of the world to reveal truth or beauty—or both—underneath.”

The Uncreativity Experiment Ends

~StoneAnnexCipher:iconStoneAnnexCipher: reports, February 8, 2007
On February 4th, a group of people got together in #Uncreativity and retyped poems from random books.

Each poem overlapped the other, the lines combined, and some sort of epic nonsense emerged.

Or at least that's what one would think would happen. Some sort of epic nonsense did emerge, but there were also eerie moments in which two or more poems merged and formed something entirely new. Sometimes these new poems were even better than the poems from which they were created.
