reports, 11h 30m agoDOF and bokeh are used for selective focusing, in order to emphasize the main object. This is especially useful for portraits, conveying a dreamy, melancholic atmosphere and as an artistic expression. The easiest way to achieve small DOF is to take the picture from a small distance and with a greater aperture. dA is abundant with beautiful examples with this effect.

reports, February 9, 2007The newly founded deviantART-group ~architecture has settled the aim to increase the intrest in architectual photography here at deviantART and to form a basis for discussion about architecture and architectural photography.
The founders of ~architecture are Ivan "*Ivan-Suta" Suta, Sebastian "~CidreS" Schmitz and Stefan "=stns" Steins.
Since the project is still in its very beginnings, we desperately need as much support as possible.
If you are an architectural photographer, or in case you simply love architecture, join the group by simply sending us a note and watching ~architecture.
The first important step to guarantee success to the project would be a subscription.
