Daily Literature Deviations - November 28, 2009

=DailyLitDeviations:iconDailyLitDeviations: reports, November 28
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you :+fav: the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Appreciation of Admins (AoA)

~Sarto-San:iconSarto-San: reports, February 10, 2007
________________________________________ ________________Appreciation for Admins (AoA)

Definition
Appreciation- gratitude; thankful recognition

Appreciation is something we all wish for. We recognize those who have all the glory and work all around us. DeviantArt is a place where this happens. There are countless people who contribute to DeviantArt. Many of those who are Administrators around the site. You have the Admins which control the bigger parts of the site. But people like for instance, the Creative Staff, which help around the site a great amount.

A lot of the countless, and growing, members of DeviantArt don't recognize these users who make our lives easier. DeviantArt is a worldwide and rapidly growing community. I join DeviantArt back in 2005 and have been addicted since. I watch over 600 people which many are just artists. But many of those users are also concerned Admins. The Rules around the site stand and are greatly followed.

But lately it has become to concern that Thieving is happening. And what do users to. Rant. They rant and rampage. Yes, it is frustrating to have your artwork taken from you but just ask then report. But this is none of my concern. Back to my main topic.

Appreciation for the Admins is high. But I don't think enough is done. Admins and Staff spend countless hours a year on the site improving and working with other people. Imagine if DeviantArt was only Ten servers and only thirty people on staff. It would die. DeviantArt has an unimaginable amount of servers that are constantly running.

The amount of money spent to keep the site running is extraordinary. DeviantArt is a free running website. Yes, the subscribers to get other features but that is because they are contributing. The Admins make it this way to show that they enjoy people who make the running of DeviantArt a bit easier.

Imagine working for a site like DeviantArt. If the site were to crash, what would happen? Panic is the thing that would. The staff is constantly helping and working making the site better.

Many of us complain because the site isn't good enough. If you read the news. The site is rapidly growing. There are bugs everywhere. The Admins have to fix those first. So instead of complaining. Help out the effort. Now, many of us can't do anything but we can help save space.

Here are a few tools that will probably help Admins and the Site-
1. Recognize the Admins for their countless hours of work
2. Help save space
3. Don't bug Admins with anything that is not useful
4. Save space on the site (Ex. If you have 50 journals, get rid of some)
5. Follow the Rules
6. Enjoy the Experience

Enjoying what Admins do for us usually is good enough. But it is good. If you know an Admin, try to help them out if you can. Don't ignore the fact that DeviantArt is trying to get the way people want, but it takes time and money. A lot of it we are all lacking. I am not an Admin but I talk to a few people who are. So help the effort.

Appreciate what the Admins do for You and the Community.

Taylor C. Nelson

Another thing that many people could do [well, non-subscribers anyway] is once a day click on just one ad. It costs the member nothing yet still makes a bit of money for dA. They wouldn't even have to let the ad completely load, just let the page start then go back or close the tab. I'm sure that dA could always use more money for servers and other large website essentials.

The admins are doing a great job of running this site ... they must have a very close budget that they have to run on and with the site expanding so quickly its amazing that they have been able to keep up.

As for features ... is it really that hard to wait a little bit for a new feature ... also just cause you may want a feature doesn't mean that it will improve the site for the whole community.

So I would like to thank the admins for the great job they are doing here finding new ways to improve the site and getting rid of those pesky bugs.

Great work guys keep it up :D

I have completely convinced that we need to clean out our Galleries, Scraps, Journals, and Notes. For those who wish to srchive them as part of their history I suggest archiving them on "Thumb Drives", lableing them, and putting them in index boxes for future references.

Okay, here is what I have done.

A.) I took a photograph from my scraps, copied it, then opened up a new folder on a thumb drive called "DA Scraps" I then pasted the photograph onto my thumb drive. I went back five times and it was still there each time. So, anyone can start an archive of thier scraps on a thumb drive and file all the thumb drives in an index card box.

B.) I went to my "Notes" and copied a single note. I then had to go to "Word Document" and paste it there. Then I copied it from "Word Document", took it to my "Thumb Drive", started a new folder for "DA Messeges RX" and pasted it there. So, if you want to save your scraps, messages, journals, etc. you just have to follow these procedures. Any time you want to reference them you can take your thumb drive (of which you must lable!), place it back into your computer, then open up the appropriate folder.

You have to remember. The admins appreciate us already that is why they keep coming out with new things, but we don't recognise them very much.
