deviantART would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the 2006 Holiday Card Project. With the help of nearly
700 deviants, we were able to deliver well over
1200 holiday cards to patients in the hospital during the holiday season. Judging by the postage stamps from all the boxes and envelopes we received, deviants from 44 different countries/political regions participated in the Project, helping to make 2006 our best year yet.
Cards were delivered and distributed at five hospitals: UCI Medical Center in Orange, California; Childrens Hospital Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California; Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York; Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and The Toronto Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario.

Heidi passed out cards at UCI Medical Center. Marking the third year in a row we've done so, the kind and welcoming patients at UCI are always very receptive to our cause. Each patient enjoyed learning that his or her card was sent in by an artist from around the globe. Similarly, ¢

When possible, deviantART users and staff members try to personally hand deliver cards to patients, but sometimes due to health and privacy concerns it isn't allowed, as such was the case with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. However, we've been told the cards were distributed successfully and everyone appreciated the thoughtfulness of the deviantART community.
It's safe to say that everyone who participates in the Project deems it to be a truly rewarding and touching experience. The 2006 Holiday Card Project was a huge success and we look forward to continuing in the years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped make the Project run smoothly. It really takes a concentrated effort to deal with so much mail arriving in a short time span.
Finally, and most importantly, a huge thanks goes to the deviantART community and everyone who sent in cards. When I began the Project about six years ago on a personal level with just family and friends, I never imagined that it would grow so large. After only three years on deviantART, the Project has surpassed all my expectations and I'm sure will only continue to do so.
Thank you.
