Everyone thinks the best artists on DeviantArt are the ones with all the pageviews, but sometimes you find true art is the most unusual places. For those of you who don’t have time to search the nooks and crannies of DeviantArt, this article is here to shine the spotlight on two deserving people, with a few of my favorite thumbnails.

Darkkixie blows me away with her colourful, stylish and detailed traditional art. Her marker art has to be seen to be believed. Darkkixie is new, budding artist, but is already picking up steam. Watch for her art on the front page in the near future.

I am in love with the perspective and posing in this piece. Also, the great colour palette and embroidery detailing doesn’t hurt.



Sphinx
Riddle me this: what’s cool, creepy and beautiful, all at the same time? Darkkixie’s piece Sphinx embodies the deadly wit of these alluring creatures.

Featuring a mysterious original character, Page 7 draws you in with its immaculate details and funky effects. There’s no words, and yet it makes you want to read more.

With a quirky, pop-art driven sense of humour, Ouiouiwalrus’ art is both inventive and likeable. You just have to laugh at the ridiculousness, and marvel at the imagination. I sense a career in graphic design in her future.

Sometimes I just can’t pass up the opportunity to feature someone, even if they have more than 3,000 pageviews.
is one of those people. With a scant 5,500 page views improportionate to her talent, 1022’s work is cute and undeniably cool. I won’t say much, except that you should definitely check out her gallery.




If you think you or somebody you know deserves to be featured, you need to first make sure they have less than 3,000 pageviews. You can be any kind of artist to be featured, but be advised that my tastes lean towards cartoons and anime, so it’s a little unlikely that I’ll single you out myself if you are, say, a textile artist.
