Scrollable CSS boxes in Journals

=BeyondTheHorizon:iconBeyondTheHorizon: reports, February 20, 2007
If you need a scrollable box in your Journal, where you can put recent news, fav's or thumbs, this one is for you.

Let's cut the BS and go to the code.

Put the following in the CSS (beta) box on your Journal:

.element{
position: relative !important;
overflow: auto!important;
vertical-align: top !important;
height: 190px !important;
width: 100% !important;
background:#d9dfd9!important;
border: 1px #92A399 solid !important;
padding: 15px!important;
}

The below code goes into your Journal body:

<div class="element">Add your contents here</div>

No BS - just CSS :lol:

Obviously the parameters of the colors and such can be changed. Go play with the stuff to make it suit YOUR Journal.

I hope someone can use this. If it has been posted before, please excuse me - I didn't see it.

Have fun =)

Nifty. I'll have to remember this when it comes around to new journal time.

Yay :D :D Although I've known this for a long time now, through =Grayda's news articles (a great collection for CSS, really :D ).

You could have your article a bit more organised (i.e. put the code inside < code > < / code > tags) put a more nice introduction, gather one or two more CSS scripts that might interest people, give an example of a good journal, generally, take =Grayda's articles as an example, if you want to continue releasing news articles like that :)

Nice job, though :)

Is there an example we could look at?

Oh nevermind, I tested it on my journal.

Meh.

Love the tagline "no BS just CSS". :lol:

That's exactly what I needed. I hate sifting through waffle to try and find what it is I need to use.

Thanks!

:iconboffinbrain:
Actually, you only need half of those statements. :nod: And you don't need the !important modifiers either.
:iconribbontail:
Wow, that's actually pretty ingenious, now that I tested it in my Journal. I just wished there was a way to change the scrollbar. :paranoid:
:iconbonekhan123:
This is EXACTLY what I needed on my journal. Excellent work!

...Now if only I can get that deviantBOX to work now! *grumbles*
