Poetry Feature #65

*TheFavoritesProject:iconTheFavoritesProject: reports, July 13
We've featured 65 poems since we opened our satellite account in 2007! Another one of the poems we featured received a DD before we had a chance to post it, so we posted two features this week. View the most recent feature here, as well a list of all the previous poems featured by TFP. If you like what you see, than devwatch the account because we feature a new one every week! No membership is required.

007-WRITEOFF UPDATE -- YEAH BABY!!!!

~007-WriteOff:icon007-WriteOff: reports, February 21, 2007
:spotlight-left: ABOUT ~007-WriteOff : :spotlight-right:

WriteOff isn't just a club. It's a phenomenon, a frenzy of creativity, an ever-expanding community of people who write every day, or as often as they can, based on the NaPoWriMo and NaNoWriMo concepts, except that instead of running for one month, it goes all year. You can pick a particular month in which to write prose, poetry, or whatever it is you do - every day! Or just add something every few days throughout the year. It's all up to you. If you do choose a particular month, be sure to drop a line about it on the main page here, so we all know to come cheer you on! :D

:star: If you want to join, you need to make a WriteOff account, or use an existing NaPoWriMo or NaNoWriMo account (please let us know, if this is the case).

:bulletpurple:The account must start with 007- with your regular username after the dash. (For example: ~007-salshep , ~007-NovembreChuchote ).

:bulletpurple: PLEASE NOTE: existing NaPo accounts will be accepted, regular galleries won't.

:bulletpurple: Then put ~007-WriteOff on watch, and we'll watch you back.

:spotlight-left: ADOPT AN 007-DEVIANT!!! :spotlight-right:

The members of 007-WriteOff who have committed themselves to writing every day need lots of support an encouragement. Anyone who has done NaPoWriMo or NaNoWriMo knows how daunting (and exhilarating) a task it can be, especially as the month draws to a close. So, WriteOff is asking YOU to extend the hand and milk of kindness toward a fellow writer, and adopt one of our people for a month.

All You Need To Do Is:

:bulletpurple: Choose a 007-member from the 'Who Is Writing When' list on the ~007-WriteOff page. You can choose a member who's already been adopted if you like, or adopt more than one -- the more the merrier!

:bulletpurple: Put your adoptee on watch and let them, and us, know who you've chosen.

:bulletpurple: Comment on thier devs as they appear in your devwatch-box. Because 007-WriteOff is all about rough drafts and WIP's, you can feel free to critique (if they want), crit-lite, or simply cheer them on.

007-WriteOff has been a success, due to the great community atmosphere and all the support an encouragement going on. Your participation will be greatly appreciated!

:spotlight-left: WHO WILL BE OUR 1000th DEV? :spotlight-right:

We're almost at our 500th dev since the club kicked off on January 1st this year. We like to acknowledge the people who reach every 100-milestone, and to celebrate our 1000th, ~007-WriteOff will be awarding a NICE BIG JUICY PRIZE to the one who hits our "Millenium-Dev" mark. BUT YOU GOTTA BE IN IT TO WIN IT!

:omfg: -- LITGAMES & DISCUSSION PAGE!

Our aim is that by March 1, ~007-WriteNow will be fully functional. WriteNow is a moderated site, with staff who will both help provide entertainment and keep the trolls at bay. Put the page on watch, and join the fun when we open March 1st!

:bulletpurple: ~007-WriteNow is taking applications for staff, folk willing to put in the time and effort to moderate the site and help create a fun, inspiring atmosphere. Apply by note.

:bulletpurple: We also have our own chatroom: #OHOHBEHAVE. Drop by, share something from your gallery, get some polite and honest critique, or just blather about literature in general, it's all good. Chat staff needed, to help make this the best, most productive and friendly lit-chat on deviantArt. Apply by note to: ~007-WriteOff

:star: Well, that's about it for now. Thanks heaps for reading. Drop on by our page some time, pull up a stump, read some devs. We'll bake a cake!

The rules are simple -- BE CIVIL. Debate is welcome, personal flaming is not.

I wish you luck & sincerely hope you can take your own advice about being civil. Will those rules apply to personal attacks by forum moderators on members and a special attention to foul language and uncalled-for criticism of specific individuals? I see that happen so often here, and it's rather unfortunate.

This sounds like a grand idea. :D Here's to hoping it's very successful for you, sweetpea. :*
