Are you missing that, too?

~MarcosBnPinto:iconMarcosBnPinto: reports, February 22, 2007
...
Well,
I do actually miss the "traditional way" of animation, if may I speak as for myself, but... that´s my own impression, still - so be free to have your own.

But, what´s happening, since this way isn´t being applied so often nowadays?
In fact, that way and its( used for )styles are so closely related to the comics/illustration own, regardless that graphics don´t "move", of course - but I think that you got what I mean.

I know I can´t, neither wish to stop the time... but there´s things that FLASH still can´t do!
Or, that are still hardly emulated by it, so what´s being perpassed is, still, a matter of time.

So, just by instance some of those newer animations end up being either "generical"( like, the same walk/run cycle being used and used, just changing the character´s expression ), or - though it can be done smoothly - the animated objects aren´t as fluid, but morelike assembled pieces in motion.
It can be interesting for some kinds of stop-motion experimental animation( with paper, clay, et al ), but that´s being excessively used by almost ALL studios/shows lately... !

I´m aware that´s economically moreable rather than the old ways, but I just wished to remind people about that was once done, though the hard work and limitations of the time and its avaiable technology, by then.
So strangely though, seems like Western cartoons are all into this flashy thing, while the Eastern( i.e., Anime )still gets, so mainly, to the "traditional" way of animation still.

By the other hand though, Cartoons are more and more getting many elements from Anime, and "transpotting" it to some sort of a newer trend that combines both styles in something NEW and, for most of its cases, endearing too; I think that it is really positive though; I´m not a purist either this, or that way, though I still try to keep a critical approach on things( even if I like them so much ).

In other words, Toons are getting interesting ideas, though using a stagnant( unless the programs actually evolve, but that´s a part on experimentation effort )technology/media, while the Anime gets more and more stagnant ideas and plots, while using a "traditional" technology, but that´s still FAR to be considered "stagnating", foremost the huge amount of work it requires.

...
Or, at least, I didn´t felt like otherwise - judging form all that I could see until now - however, that´s just an impression I thought to share.

IMO it's just in the times.

I'd bet when they all ran out of ideas, or when the new styles get less interesting, they'd look back at their old methods & revive or derive new works from them :)

Nice writing, and I do agree at some points.

However, this is not news:

FAQ #687: What is news and what is not news?

You should have put that in your journal, or maybe in the Art Scene forum.

In order to remove the article, please consult the FAQ again:

FAQ #711: Can I remove or edit a news article I have submitted?

:D Take care :)

Thank you very much for the concerning!

Well,
I wished to construct an article over what I stated above... but I fear that I also( among the lack of an actual "news" issue ), so it was too personally presented, though I also just wished to provide a parallel for thought-provoking the reader; as I also thougth that my own journal is dedicated to issues of my very own, so I wished to share this so-called "article" above with other people who arenīt necessarily of my own circle of friends here at DA, and who wold be next to read this, once posted in my journal.

But I didnīt it aiming for attention, of course - as said, it was just an opinion/line of thught I wished to share with anyone else, and, even, get some feedback opinons as well - as I think that any actual article is a double-way interchanging of information, IMHO.

Still, I thank you for your concern ,and for providing me those useful links to - so, I guess that Iīll be able to write a better, and an actual article next time( well, also because this is the first time I ever submitted any news article at all )!

Take care

Oh, but we also are seeing some experimentation, too - I just thik that a single media is being overused, thiough this media is quite limited yet, so better not to lose touch with the "traditional" way, that proved once to be extremely versatile - and, maybe, could give some parameters/aims even for those new ways, too!

Because the new technologies are quite still, but wonīt be like that on forever - so I hope, too!

Well, who knows what new technologies wold be avaiable on the next years to come?

Thanks for replying!

You can always post this kind of matters in the Art Scene forum, or in the Complaints forum :D I am sure you'll get lots of responses there, more than you'd get by posting a non-news article in the News ;P

And don't worry, we all make mistakes :D :D It's just that, the FAQ exists there for a reason, and people seem to forget this. Well, I don't blame you, I actually believe the dA administration should make sure to have a page before going to your news article that said "Have you read our policies and regulations on news articles? Here's a few examples:" and it would have the "What is news" one, the "How to remove/edit an article" one (because many people think they can edit it later, and they can't) and stuff.

Anyway, you're one of the few who take this kind of advice positively, and I am glad about it :D Most people just don't care or don't reply at all. Take care! :D :D

All I can say is: Something must be done.

I should\'ve know that cartoons are trying the \"anime\" approach.

Anime should be kept on its own style instead of being offered to lesser cartoons.

No, I don\'t have anything against anime itself. I like anime as well.
