First, lets bring some definition to the term "a collection." A collection is a body of work that represents a point of view. It can be a few as five to seven looks or it can be as large as 45 or more. Without the cohesion provided by a point of view, or some may say a philosophy, the collection is merely a group of clothes. In addition, the first and last looks (or "exits," in fashion show-speak) are usually the most important; that is, the first should set a tone and pique your interest, and the last should grip your memory and, ideally, leave you panting for more.

Title: Embolden
Named because I used mainly bold colors, with splashes of greys. Also, these aren't your typical winter items- so the woman who'd wear them would have to be bold enough to be confident in a room full of tweeds.
I really liked doing this- I wanted to push myself to play with volume, new colors, new silhouettes, while still keeping the look more or less streamlined.

Title: Untitled/Nature Itself
My inspiration for these designs was nature itself, nature during the cold season of winter. Great contrasts of black and white like the dark trees in the snow and beautiful pastels like soft pink and grayish blue of the sky during winter sunrise. Romantic, but sometimes sharp.
There's more or less one pattern I focused on, stripes. It's simple but it creates diversity and contrast on one piece of clothing and so does winter in the nature.

Title: F+F/Fairy Tales and Folklore
Music: Värttinä
My inspiration for this collection was -obviously- fairy tales and folklore. I wanted a Scandinavian & Slavic feel to the designs and my inspiration relied heavily on the look of traditional clothes from both cultures. To keep with the somewhat woodsy & folksy theme, I kept the materials natural with wool, linen, cotton and felt being the main fabrics used.
The main colours are:
Cranberry (red)
Snow (white)
Moss (green)
Chocolate (brown)
Stone (grey)
The colour scheme came out much more limited than I first set out to use, and were I to do this over again, I'd add a few more colours into the mix.
This collection is simple and functional, meant for someone who doesn't want to have to fuss over their clothes and who appreciates comfort and practicality. The F&F girl is very close to her family and roots, she enjoys nature in every form and she doesn't take life too seriously. She's whimsical and quirky and she enjoys her life to the full. She might even believe in fairies!
This is the order (left to right) the models would take to the runway. The music should be something with a Scandinavian/Slavic feel to it, possibly something folksy sounding like Värttinä. The runway would be decorated with pine and birch trees so it'd look like the models were walking through a forest.

I have always tried to design things that are unapologetically beautiful, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If I can inspire an appreciation for grace and elegance, that would be the ultimate fulfillment of my life's ambition.
would the DAspring lines be shown in fall then?
