Well, I'm kind of running late when comes to posting this stuff this time around (what can I say, I just had to watch the Academy Awards), & I really don't have anything else to actually say this week (other than commenting that I really love this week's batch of features as usual), so what say we bypass the chit-chat & just go straight to the main event?
Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:
...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a creamy milk chocolate center! Can't get that in an Oscar now, can you? Didn't think so...
Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...
Let's play by *
cloning. One word:
DAMN. A brilliantly-designed & playful collage of some of our childhood's favorites toys bursting with an excellent use of bright primary colors & jam-packed with an intense amount of detail that all boils down to an image so mind-blowing that - I kid you not - I actually felt a little dizzy looking at it all...But it was a good kind of feeling, dammit. And it's that kind of odd feeling that makes me love this piece even more. One more word: Bravo!

Well, now that she's stepped down from being an admin, I can finally feature `
delya without fear of getting that "suck-up" feeling...Seriously, delya has to be one of this site's best cartoonists, with a gallery full of amazing creations. And
Underworld Series :: 003 is no exception, featuring a very cool, stylish, & innovative character design that's just plain full of fun. Definitely one of del's best characters, & definitely a piece that you have to fave.
Fish Meteor by ~
NoPLo...The second I saw that face, I knew this one was a winner. This piece is just something so exaggerated, colorful, fun, & brilliantly over the top that you can't help but love it...But at the same time, it also has an amazing & innovative concept behind it that would be perfect for any good science fiction or fantasy story. But honestly now, can you really resist that face?
Jack and Jill: Sibling Love by ~
BechnoKid is a cute, cool, well-drawn, & well-detailed piece of art that shows us an innovative twist on the classic nursery rhyme that artists such as Endling would be proud of. It's a piece like this that showcases the bond between family members so well, that it makes me wish I had a brother or sister as well...& that I also had a kick-ass scarf that I could control with my mind. Well, a man can dream...

Now, I'll admit that I've featured a piece similar to
candy monster by ~
czarnystefan in the past, but this was just so cool that I couldn't resist showcasing it. Creepy, dark, disturbing, detailed, innovative, & drawn in a very intense style that makes it appear as though it came straight out of a comic book, this is one piece that may end up both shocking you & amazing you at the same time.

Just when I thought I've seen every animal possible turned into an anthro character, along comes *
thweatted to blow me away with
Plate tectonics. The unique idea of a pangolin anthro is worth the price of admission alone, but a well-drawn, stylish, & cartoonish character sheet like this perfectly showing off this amazing character's looks & personality is just brilliant. Now dare I ask if anyone could actually come up with an even more innovative anthro deisgn...
Supersonic Pollo by ~
desagradable features a great variety of colors, a nice & fluid style, great uses of shading, &...Oh, who am I kidding? It features a friggin' psychedelic dead chicken with a top hat & a magician's outfit!! How the hell do you resist something like that? It's all just so seemingly random, freaky, out there & well-designed that you can't help but stare at how brilliant & weird this is. All hail the chicken...

Great anime pieces don't get much better than something like
Mandoo by ~
Jowa. Cute & cool character designs, a great use of perspective, an amazing color scheme, a wicked & excellent style, a great amount of detail, & an overall fun feeling to it all...Plus, I can really imagine an interesting story behind this piece, & the ones with good stories to tell are some of the best ones...
God ++ the Elements by ~
rabidd08 (now known as ~
yungkee)...Plain & simple, that is one innovative, cool, badass, & wickedly-designed god, one that I could see as being part of an interesting mythology. And the amazing style, great use of colors, & amazing concept definitely help as well. Man, I can definitely see myself worshipping this guy someday...
...& that's all for this week! If you have any comments, suggestions, etc., they'd be greatly appreciated! I hope you've all liked what I've featured this week, & I'll be back next week with nine more DD-worthy works of art! Sayanora until then! ^_^
