I Am A Child

reports, 1d 1h agoMy little girl is so magical. With a smile she can brighten my world. The glow in her eyes when she tells one of her stories melts away all of the day's problems and concerns. For me, having a child and being able to participate in her life, watch her grow and absorb the wonders of the world, completes me as a human being.
For my latest journal feature I am presenting a visual essay on children -- works by DA artists that beg to ask the question, "Is there anything more pure, more magical than a child?" Breaking up the photos are lyrics from Neil Young's brilliant song about children, "I Am A Child." If you want to listen to Neil's song while viewing the essay, right click on [link]

The purpose of the Male Artistic Nudes of the Month feature is to bring attention to the high quality and variety of male artist nudes submitted to DA each month.
That's right, you read the summary correctly - this is the last of this monthly feature that I'll be doing.
Why?
It's been a year since I started doing the Male Artistic Nudes of the Month feature. I originally started, because I saw a disparity between how male and female nudes were received and responded to. Basically, people kept harping on about the lack of "quality" male nudes, despite the fact that they did exist if people could just be bothered looking for them. The feature was meant to help by showcasing the quality and diversity of male nudes on DA.
However, a year has passed, twelve features have been done and...everything else is still the same. Quality male nudes are still considered rare (despite the fact that a large number of male nude photographers have started and flourished on DA in this time, on top of the ones who've been around since before this feature) and, if anything, the reception of male nudes has gotten even worse.
Obviously this feature is not achieving its intended goals. Either the support's simply not there, or I haven't been doing that great a job at it. As such, I've decided that I'm going to consider one year a good run and leave it at that.
I hope those of you who read this have enjoyed this and the previous features.
