Hi there, guys and gals!
I know I'm very, very behind on keeping those of you interested up to date on the happenings within "Comics and Cartoons". Even if nothing huge is going on I should still update and so, I apologize for being lax in that area. With this article I'm turning over a fresh leaf and starting up a monthly news letter! I will be contacting several deviants for interviews, guest appearances and community chosen thumbnails to feature in future news letters. If you're interested don't wait for me to get in touch with you! Go ahead and note me about it!

Alrighty, on to the news!

Old news first: I'm taking "Anthro" art DD suggestions now. ^guruubii and I have teamed up to keep the "Anthro" category covered until a proper gallery director is assigned to it. She's taking odd numbered days and I've got the even. The same DD guidelines for "Comics and Cartoons" go for "Anthro". You can check out my guidelines here and ^guruubii's here!

New News:
"Comics and Cartoons" is getting a makeover. Some categories are in dire need of a face lift and C&C is one of them. Don't panic! This is a good thing! More on that later so keep an eye on the AR Newsletters!

Deviant Contests:
*spaghetti016 is tossing a contest that is open to everyone. The theme is "Frank Miller" and I'm expecting a fantastic turn out. Please read here for all the information about requirements and prizes and to see the current submissions! The due date is March 15th, 2007 so there's eight days left! I will be pitching in for prizes so between Matty and I there will be plenty of loot to win so hop to it!

Community Projects:
*ultema has started a wonderful project in hopes of encouraging even more interaction between deviants through a collective creativity. Not so long ago the creation of original characters to fit within a pre-established world and time was VERY popular. =Cilessia-Prime is just one of the many results that stemmed off from this. And is still turning out new characters and stories. It's been a very successful way to bring deviants together in a single artistic outlet. *ultema needs your feedback though. So please go take a peek at her journal here and leave your feedback in the poll. This has all the potential to be a fabulous way to get your brain juices flowing. Don't pass it up! I'll keep you posted in it's progress in future newsletters.

Thumbnails:
This month's thumbnails are going to be a little different. Instead of featuring just artwork submitted over the past month I will be mixing in some new and old 300 fan pieces here and there to spice things up a bit!




There is plenty more where these came from so make sure to browse through your favorite galleries everyday to catch a peek at more fantastic artwork!

Alrighty, I think that's all the news I had for this time around! I'm looking to throw another dA-sponsored contest around dA's birthday so keep your eyes peeled for information about that! The Day in the Life of a Deviant contest was such a huge success... I'm so excited about the possibility of another one.
