In the spirit of learning and showing off your skills in Post Processing I have decided to put on a contest that will run through the month of December and end January 31st 2010! This contest is to put a spot light on the artiest out there that put the time and energy in to making and already great image even better. This will be a Great Opportunity to have your work seen by many, and with almost 5 years worth of Subscriptions available to win who wouldn't want to be part..
Beginning March 15, the first ever RTalon235 Art Invitational Contest officially starts!
After seeing a few of these take place, and of course to satisfy my shameless desire to see new artwork, I decided that I wanted to give it a try. Then, I decided to double the average prizes that I had noted in other contests. Hopefully, the turnout will justify the expense, and I'll do this again next year!
To maintain a sense of fairness to those that are encountering me for the first time, this contest will revolve around an entirely new OC. Your only hint for now is that my new OC is a female. Nothing else about her will be revealed until the start of the contest on the 15th. At that time, there will be 3 full color reference pictures of her posted, along with comments about her personality.
Your challenge: She is yours to toy with. Any medium or situation is fair game including stories or photographs as long as she is involved in some way. Draw her by herself, interacting with your OC, being attacked by aliens, as an Anthro, or whatever you can dream up. There are no boundaries. You are the artist, and its your vision of her that I care about. Put her on a pedestal or treat her like a dog. Its your choice. If it cant be posted on DA, Ill post a link to it.
The Rules (ala the KISS method):
1. If youre not on my watchlist, please note me about your entry so I know it exists!
2. Enter as many times as you want!
3. Any artistic medium is accepted
4. My OC must be included for entry
5. The only limitations are that of the artist, so go all out!
Entries will be accepted until May 15th at 11:59 pm the winners will be announced the afternoon of June 1st!
Judging Information:
There will be 3 judges in total including myself. The other two will remain nameless until the winners are announced. All I can tell you about them is that they are artists, so they have experience in the field that I as a non-artist do not.
1st place: a 2 year DA subscription or 60 bucks U.S. cash
2nd place: a 1 year DA subscription or 30 bucks U.S. cash
3rd place: a 6 month DA subscription or 15 bucks U.S. cash
(If cash is chosen in lieu of subscription, it will be paid by the artists choice of PayPal or money order)
Optional items:
Mention the contest on your journal! I deal with a lot of web sites, and I can (and do) return the shout out favors.
If you have any specific questions, comments, or concerns, ASK! Ill answer to the best of my ability.
So, have I got you right? I can write a story about this character of yours?
And the contest ends on June 1st... or earlier? Because it says the winners will be announced on those days, so you'll need a few days beforehand to collect [and judge], right?
Sure, you can write a story if you want to. Or a poem, or make a likeness out of sugarcubes, or whatever else you so desire. It's the artists's view of my OC that I care about.. I already have the OC in her original form.
The contest officially ends on May 15th, though I may be able to extend that a week or so if necessary. The winners will be announced June 1st no matter what.

Wow, this sounds like an amazingly interesting contest!
I've worked with other people's characters before, so it should be no problem for me.
I think winning now only depends on whether or not I do well enough for you guys [the judges]! <3

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
