The guitar is a musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles. It typically has six strings, but four, seven, eight, ten, and twelve string guitars also exist.
Hope and Happiness: Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color that, like red, has conflicting symbolism. On the one hand it denotes happiness and joy but on the other hand yellow is the color of cowardice and deceit.
Welcome to Three Songs issue number 2, where each month I will feature some of the best eye catching Music Photography on deviantART from around the world.
Why the name "Three Songs"?
Most media access passes will only allow you to shoot the very first three songs of an act and then you must move on, sometimes you get lucky and can stay for a complete set but that is very very rare.
So here at Three Songs you wont find cute kitties, selected coloured art or work with limited favourites just mother fuckin' rock-pop-n-roll!
Hints and Tips:
Tip 1. No Flash!
Why is it that whenever we go to a gig they tell us not only first three songs but no flash? Well that's because it gets in the musicians eyes and distracts them from the performance would you like it if there were up to 10 photographers blasting you with their speedlites? From a technical point of view it's ugly and strips all the natural lighting, turns your subject a ghostly white and just makes your photos look bad.
Hint 1. Settings and Lens
Try to shoot at a higher ISO around 800> and using a nice f-stop of around 2.8. For those of you who can change your lenses try a 50mm f/1.8 for some really sharp beautiful photos, it will become your best friend and starter lens.
and good advice on the lenses (i often use my 50mm f/1.8 and recomend it to anyone, ALTHO it can be hard not being able to zoom in or out if you are working in a limited space)
as for the flashes, i use a flash for almost all of my work due to the poor lighting at underground shows, BUT if you want to not distract to much and not strip the colour and through horrible shadows about aim the flash somewhere else if you can. for instance i almost always aim above the person i am photographing so it lights up the shot but doesnt effect the photo too much.
WOW! Thanks for using two of my photo's! I mostly use my 28-75 f/2.8 for indoor photography. 70-200 f/2.8 still on my wishlist, as well as a nice wide angle
First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
