It takes a brilliant mind and great passion to produce an Image with a great vibe. Its not something everyone can do, you have to have a great eye for the world around you, a great knowledge on the aspects of light and color, as well as the humans perspective.
I've found that the photography world has become a very popular one, being new to It myself, I decided that I wanted to get some questions answered. Basics, yes, but things every new photographer should know, or at least take Into consideration If there serious about there craft. I decided to Interview Ido (
[link]). Ido Is a Male Photographer from Australia, has been a part of DeviantArt since 2002, and has a decent 20,000 page views. I figured, this guy knows his Photography. Not only does Ido have some Amazing artwork, he really knows how the camera works, and how to get a beautiful Image using It to Its full potential.
Heres some of his works:

Some truly amazing works. Now, on with the Interview. Basic questions, basic photography knows. Not only were these helping me, I hope they help allot of new-commers to Photography, and even If your a master It doesn't hurt to try and learn from others.

The Interview-
1. What camera model do you have? Specifics?
Ido -I use a Canon EOS 20D. 8.2 megapixel (3504x2336 resolution), 5 frames per second for 5 RAW's or 28 JPEG's. 9 point AF in a diamond pattern with the centre point becoming a full cross-type sensor below f/2.8. 1.6x crop. 1.8" LCD. The lenses I use are a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro, Sigma 100-300mm f/4 EX HSM, Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX Macro and a Canon 50mm f/1.8.
2. Does the quality of your Images come just from the camera, or do you brush them up with Photoshop, explain?
Ido -Most of the quality comes from the camera & lenses. I do minor sharpening in Photoshop, but that's purely to compensate for the anti-aliasing filter of the camera. My typical settings in Photoshop in the Unsharp Mask filter is 300%, Radius = 0.3, Threshold - 1
3. How do you gain such vibrant and beautiful colors In your picture, Is It just pure lighting from the sun and your surroundings, or do you have certain adjustments you make with Photoshop?
-If so, which, what, and how?
Ido -Most of the colors you see are how they were. I rarely increase saturation in post processing, but sometimes I do if I feel it adds to the image. I also sometimes use a desaturated, high contrast look.
4.In your photography, some shots, are so simple, yet so complex, how do you come about finding such photos, do you just walk around and say "hey!" or do you hunt for them?
Ido -Most of the time I just walk around and shoot whatever I think is interesting. If I see a subject has potential I spend more time playing with compositions and looking at any fine detail that I can bring out in the image. Most of the time I decide where I'm going and just shoot within that area.
5. Some new photographers have trouble getting advanced critique, getting there stuff evaluated with helpful pointers. What advice would you give to them on getting that helpful Insight and getting there artwork noticed?
Ido -Chatrooms, chatrooms and more chatrooms. Spending time in the DA chat will get you a lot more exposure. Some rooms such as #Unknownphotography welcome newcomers to thumb their work and request critique. I also find that going around other individual's galleries, giving favs and commenting, most of the time the user will return the favor to you.
6. If you were to give any helpful Insight to new Photographers, what Information and helpful hints would you share with them?
Ido -Read as much as you can on the Internet. There is a lot of information on the Internet. People often get frustrated when new comers come in and ask very basic questions. Don't be scared to ask for critique and DO NOT turn away harsh, but constructive criticism. Read what they say and take it into consideration. Buy a camera that is within your skill range. Don't go buying something like a Canon 5D or even 1d Mark III if you have never done photography before.

And there you have it, from the mouth of a great photographer.(or fingers, rather...)
Do look for new Interviews and features with more on Photography, I hope you enjoyed this Issue, and Thank you!
