`SparrowSong on writing, critique and her passions

^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, September 28
An interview with writer, critic (critiquer?), lit senior, `SparrowSong. Here are some tidbits:

“I like that my passions change. If nothing else, it gives me more to write about.”

“Everyone has heard the expression, ‘Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ If you don’t learn to critique, you will always be dependent on others to help you instead of being able to do it by yourself.”

“Art changes how we view the surface of the world to reveal truth or beauty—or both—underneath.”

Angsty Literature Club

*Matadi:iconMatadi: reports, October 3
Since there is not much we are afraid of in the days of speeding optic cables, no need to talk sincerely since we do wear the egoist, shiny mantle of a digital avatar, why there is still "love" the most search after word on dA? We do have the need to touch and be touched,to smile, not often even cry, we are thirsty of eachothers footsteps in the sacred place called emotion.Living to tell we are so fragile, living to tell we are so strong, living to tell...

Take a rest, from time to time, step back and look around you,
catch what you see in a word.
what will it be?

Soundzine – dA’s Audio E-Zine

~Soundzine:iconSoundzine: reports, March 22, 2007
What is Soundzine?

Soundzine is an online text and audio journal for poetry and flash fiction.

We plan on publishing an issue quarterly, and for the first year intend to keep ourselves under the umbrella of deviantART, although we will consider submissions from anyone interested. Please see our Submission Guidelines for more details.

:star: Issue #1 is due for release on April 15. We already have a number of poems, flash fic and artworks, but are willing to accept last-minute submissions at this point.

:bulletblue: Although we prefer quality recordings done by the author, we do have some outstanding in-house readers, and will accept submissions unaccompanied by a sound file if the poem is of high quality and lends itself to being read by our staff-readers.
For those who need help with recording their own works, we should soon have a FAQ posted to get you started.

:bulletblue: Other features include regular spotlights on deviantART writers, some audio interviews with poets of note on occasion, and critical reviews of poetry and poetry collections, among other good stuff.

:star: We're also interested in publishing good quality fine art and photography that compliments the poetry and theme of Soundzine. Please feel free to note us at ~Soundzine with suggestions, or to offer pieces we can add to our ‘bank’ of art for publication. Artists retain all rights, and we’ll of course give full credit, and links to print options and websites.

SOUNDZINE NEEDS READERS!
If you have a good reading style and voice, and would like to join the House Readers team, please drop us a note. In particular, we’re currently looking for male voices, but anyone interested should note us with a link to a voice sample.

- Submissions and staff applications may noted to our deviantART page, or e-mail us at [link]
