March Prints Artist Update

$chix0r:iconchix0r: reports, March 26, 2007
As the Customer Services Supervisor, it gives me great pleasure to bring you the latest edition of our regular Prints Artist Updates. These updates aim to provide you with the most up to date and useful information in order for you to make the most of your Prints Program experience. Watch out for news as it comes in regarding the latest products, services, and resources!

We hope that you find these updates useful and informative and encourage you to leave comments and suggestions on what you would like to see included in future editions.

Prints Profits Payments

We'd like to remind all artists to make sure that your account details are updated. This will ensure that you receive your profit payments without any delays or disappointments. If you are considering changing to a different payment method, we would urge that you do this no later than 30 days prior to the next cut off point for the quarter, as this avoids any issues with returned checks, or declined PayPal payments.

We'd also like to remind our international artists to make sure that they have selected the most appropriate method of payment for their own country. All profits checks are paid in American Dollars and some banks will charge a fee for exchanging into your local currency. It is your responsibility to make sure that this is acceptable before you select the check payment method, and we cannot provide replacement checks for you once issued.

Please also note, that our checks have a validity period of 90 days, and you should make sure that you have cashed your check in good time, as we cannot replace any checks which are outwith this period.

To choose the method in which you want to be paid, go into your account settings (services.deviantart.com/account/) There, you can choose to receive your profits in one of three ways:

Personal Check: - Enter the name you want the check cut to in the "make payable to" field in your account settings.

PayPal payment: - Enter in your PayPal email address in the appropriate field in your account settings.

deviantDOLLARS: - These can be used to make purchases on the website. All profits are automatically available as deviantDOLLARS, no matter which payment method you choose, so you can use your profits to buy prints and subscriptions at any time.

For checks and PayPal payments, payments are paid within thirty (30) days after the end of every quarter year (every three months) if you have accumulated $20.00 worth of profits or more during that quarter. If you have not generated $20.00 or more then your profits will be carried over to the following quarter.

:bulletred:1st Quarter ends March 31st (paid on or before April 30th)
:bulletred:2nd Quarter ends June 30th (paid on or before July 31st)
:bulletred:3rd Quarter ends September 30th (paid on or before October 31st)
:bulletred:4th Quarter ends December 31st (paid on or before January 31st)

Please also refer to FAQ #123 and FAQ #625.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to make sure that you have a valid email address associated with your deviantART account, as sometimes we need to contact you in order to verify your address. This is especially important when you have a wishlist associated with your account, so we can contact you with any delivery enquiries, if necessary.

Help us to help you

If you should ever need to contact the Prints Customer Service Department to obtain assistance with your order or with print account, please bear in mind the following key points, which will ensure that your inquiry is dealt with as efficiently as possible.

:bulletred: When sending in a ticket regarding a problem with a print, please make sure to include the title of the print so we may know which image is having the problem. We're good, but we aren't mind readers ;P

:bulletred: When sending in a ticket regarding any kind of technical error, please include as much information and details as you can. If possible, please have a screenshot availabe for further reference. Please note that we cannot receive attachments via the customer service email system, so you will have to upload your screenshot to a suitable image hosting facility, or to your deviantART scraps, and provide us with a link.

:bulletred: Please do not reply to existing problems by filling out a whole new ticket just to send in a reply. You may reply to customer service emails with your information. If the issue is new then please fill out a new ticket. This allows us to keep an organized record of communication and will ultimately result in your inquiry being resolved in a timely manner.

:bulletred: If you have not received a reply from us regarding your ticket within 24 working hours (Monday to Friday) please check your email spam folders. Customers may find that their email account spam settings may be filtering deviantART emails into junk folders. This is especially true of hotmail accounts, so please make sure your email settings are allowing deviantART emails to be delivered correctly.

A reminder

Please remember that any inquiries regarding deviantART membership, subscriptions, deviantWEAR, and the general overall working of the main site, need to be sent to the Community Help Deskdesk. You may contact the help desk here or email payment support at payment-support@deviantart.com and our community support staff will assist you as quickly as possible.

Where to find us

Please make sure that you are sending your print-related inquiries to the Prints Help Desk, and not the Community Help Desk.

Great update, when you're not selling your work it can be easy to totally bypass the prints section, but this has been really useful.

i am glad you want to pay artist...but if you really want deviant to work like it shoudl the system to submit and make prints needs to be extremely streamlined...its a mess and way over complicated....prolly costing deviant art untold amounts of money....

Have you work through the new prints submission process? It is much, much easier than the old system.

And there is walk through tutorial available here as well.
