The first half of a two-part article on cliches vs. originality, split because of length. It may require some cleaning up; please note me with criticisms, as I don't always see comments left on news articles. Thank you.

Spring Haiku Contest

`MSJames:iconMSJames: reports, March 26, 2007
Spring Haiku Contest

Spring had seemingly sprung, in most parts of the northern hemisphere that is, and what better way to celebrate spring that with a haiku contest with spring as the theme.

So take a look around at the beauty of nature and write about it.

The task is a simple one, write a haiku (one only) that best represents your idea of spring. It must be a new deviation and you must note me to enter the contest.

The judging will be done solely by me and the prizes will be provided by me and the =AngelaD

It's pretty awesome to see two consecutive news articles announcing a lit contest. Hooray for haiku! I'll definitely try to participate.

Perhaps you should make the rules a little more descriptive, as people have all kinds of strange ideas of what a haiku is, and they might not bother to use the resources you linked.
:iconmsjames:
Hey thanks, I hope you will.

Yeah, I probably should have, but I didn't want to seem too restrictive and I dare say militant about what haiku should be, but perhaps you're still right. :/

I will try too. I need to know more about Haiku first!
