Everybody lies, sometime.

We lie to ourselves and to each other. We tell big lies, small lies, white lies, bald-faced lies and fibs, lies-by-omission, tall tales and shaggy dog stories. We over- and underplay the facts, pretend, obfuscate, scam and swindle. We pull each other’s legs - and the wool over other folks’ eyes - and people are not always what they seem.

#LitFFS is challenging poets and prose writers to lie to us. Your poem or story can be about any kind of lie, so long as it’s creative! Our judges want to be horn-swaggled, flim-flammed, impressed and shocked by the deviousness.

COMPETITION RULES AND ENTRY:

Prose is to be no longer than 4000 words. Poetry can be any length.

Please upload entries to your page, under the category “Tell Me A Lie Competition”

The competition starts April 1, 2007 and closes at midnight EST on April 30. Winners will be notified by mail, as well as a news announcement by May 10.

One entry per Prize Category, per person.
You may enter one piece each of both Poetry and Prose.
