Everyone thinks the best artists on DeviantArt are the ones with all the pageviews, but sometimes you find true art is the most unusual places. For those of you who don’t have time to search the nooks and crannies of DeviantArt, this article is here to shine the spotlight on two deserving people, with a few of my favorite thumbnails.

Damntz is a fun, fresh photographer whose work is poppy and full of life. She is versatile, with a huge gallery ranging from photo manips to vectors. Her love of life shines through in every thing she does, and one look at her art can brighten your day. Even if she is Indonesian, her pictures speak a thousand words in every language.

Grainy and colourful, damngirl is eye candy at its finest. I love the bubbly, layered look.

An unsaturated picture with an interesting, endearing subject. The sky alone is awe-inspiring.

Featured Artist #14



Enkana’s art is cute, whimsical and sentimental. It is the art equivalent of a windy autumn day, and a breath of fresh air. Don’t trust me? Trust the Daily Deviation she received. While she may have received this honor, she has yet to receive the recognition she so deserves.

The aforementioned DD winner. They said, “her whimsical composition and deft use of color won me over.” I’d have to agree.



Paint Stroke Fun
This reminds me of when I was little when I would make fingerprints on paper and turn them into little people. Enkana makes original, quirky characters that would make a younger me very jealous out of a single brush stroke.

Albert’s photos are very aesthetically pleasing and attractive. I want to reach out and touch his subjects, which range from tomatoes to Parson Jackrussel terriers. His entire gallery is meticulous and polished, and I suggest you check it out for yourself.

I can almost feel the cat’s fur against my hand, seriously. I love how it’s so close you can see all the separate hairs… and the reflection of Albert in the cat’s eyes.

Polpolina is a remarkable and, if I may, slightly eccentric plushie maker. Each of their unique faces tells a tale. Polpolina has also made rings, lanterns, bags, pendants – you name it, she’s done it, and done it well. I’d love to see her works in the flesh.

Deb and Baba
Some seriously impressive figures. Check out the detailing on their knobbly hands and feet; it must have taken a ton of patience, and for that alone, I salute Polpolina.

Additional Artist

This time, my Additional Artist just narrowly missed sneaking into the Underrated Artist category. I had to fit in here somewhere, because she’s just too talented to not be. Her light and graceful characters and smoky colouring make her too good to pass up.




If you think you or somebody you know deserves to be featured, you need to first make sure they have less than 3,000 pageviews. You can be any kind of artist to be featured, but be advised that my tastes lean towards cartoons and anime, so it’s a little unlikely that I’ll single you out myself if you are, say, a wallpaper artist.

There are five artists this time, just because I’ve been away and haven’t done a feature for a while. Consider it a souvenir.
