My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations.
Artists need to be supported.
So don't be shy!
Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not.
Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough
And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month, send me via note the links/thumbs!

reports, April 1, 2007Alright, so welcome to another edition of my little Mini-DD features! Now, usually I'd say a little something here before I get to the meat & potatoes here, but I don't really have anything to say this time around...Mostly because when I've spoken out in my last two editions, some guy apparently gives me a "devious rejection". Geez, sorry if I wanted to say anything on my mind that's related to what I do here. I just thought I had a little extra something to say that kind of meant something to me or felt important. And now you've hurt my feelings. Happy now??
Alright, so with that out of the way, what say we get on with the main event already? On with the Mini-DDs!
Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:
...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a creamy milk chocolate center! And Hell, Easter's next week! So what better gift can you ask for than a chocolatey treat, dammit?
Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...
Simply put, Versus Loveshugah by ~upnix is a very fun work of art that's a colorful, playful, & manic piece loaded with nice little details, a cool "action-packed" kind of feeling, cute character designs, & an overall mood that makes you feel good just looking at it. Make sure you check out the rest of this artist's gallery as well for some equally wicked Vector pieces!
heet by ~LoneWolf2...Oh, what can I say about this beauty. Gloriously twisted, chock full of seemingly random & cool designs & elements, crammed full of amazing little details (love the variety of textures), drawn with such an amazing "fluid" style, & topped off with a very unique & wicked color scheme & layout. It all just looks so intense & trippy...And that's why I love it!
A dedicated fan of one of Sega's most tragically underused characters, *Mel-P shows off her love for some of Sega & Namco's finest with Nack comic cover 2.0 XD. And with an amazing style, gorgeous linework & coloring, some cute & funny expressions, an astounding amount of detail, & a nice & fun feeling to it all, Mel definitely does her favorite gaming characters justice with this baby.
.pet. by ~PyroPanda is a gloriously twisted & fun creature pic that's just too charming & cool to ignore. Nice style, nice colors, very nice details (I absolutely love all those little markings on this guy's body), nice & wicked character design, & a nice little sense of humor all add up to a perfect tribute to one of DA's best. All I can say now is that Pyro should definitely be damn proud of this one...
thesunMAKESMESHINE by *weja is definitely one wicked design. Simple yet amazing, colorful & bright (obviously nice & appropriate, given the subject matter), innovative, well-drawn with a nice style, & fun to look at with a nice, interesting little explanation behind the inspiration here thrown in, this is definitely one piece that I wouldn't mind seeing on an actual tarot card myself.
Filosofi sang Gajah by ~liquin...Funky character design? Check. Amazing style? Check. Loads of fun details? Check. An intense & wicked color scheme? Check. Unique concept? Check. Nice layout & background? Check. Nice "urban" feel mixed in with a slightly psychedelic mood? Check. Alright, enough with the checks. I think I'll just end this by saying that this is an amazing piece of pop art & leave it at that.
EnterVOID intro comic p1 by =Mad-Cheshire is definite one intersting Anthro piece (to say the least). Aside from the wicked character design (love that neon), you can practically feel the fury coming from this piece as it shows her on the way to battle an idiot DA member that pointlessly insults Anthro artists & completely deserves an ass-kicking &...What was I talking about? Oh yeah...Um...Nice layout, cool style, wicked colors, etc. Damn good job!
age31 by *rafiky is a nice, simple piece with a cool concept behind it...The whole feeling of growing older can definitely be seen here: The lanky character design, the more "serious" look of the character, the nice use of large, dark clothes compared to the skinny limbs & face...But however you look at it, it's still a sweet piece of artwork, with a cool style, some well-drawn linework, & some nice little details...Definitely one to fave.
Cool little character designs, a nice mix & usage of textures, a perfect, light color scheme, a funky style & feel to it all, & even a nice layout all blend together to help makeelroy vs. VistaNova by ~incogburo a fun, well-done work of art that's definitely work taking a look at (make sure to take a peek at this artist's gallery for some more amazing stuff while you're at it).
