Would you like to understand what the hell they are on about too? I knew that feeling. You do not want to look stupid but feel it well I looked it up and to make it easily accessible for others I am submitting this news. Hopefully it is useful to some

Canon has a really good list of al kind of terms on there site. This is the one I prefer. It is general info presented in an easy way.

If you prefer to read it in another language just go to canon.com select what ever country you want, go to product and solutions, EF Lenses, on the right side you will see useful info, Glossary Film Cameras and there you have it this probably counts for the other sites too

Nikon has something alike here but to my humble opinion it’s not as informative as the one of canon.

Olympus is a bit like Nikon. Informative but not as complete as the provided link to canon.

Sony but in all honesty it’s frustrating to get some general info from there.


They also have a really useful Tips & Hints on canon's site to look after your lenses and it’s not only good for canon. [link]

Well I surely hope I brought the words of photography a bit closer to you. Most brands do provide a range of interesting topics and or tips that are interesting if you aren't that familiar with all the hows and what’s of cameras. Even if you are familiar with everything you can always learn from others
