Art theft is a common enough event on the internet, but who knew any one could plagiarise work so blatantly? Or make
money off of it, for that matter.
Todd Goldman, the "creator" of the David & Goliath design series was recently featured in a Los Angeles
fine art gallery. It may seem sad enough that stick figures with cutesy slogans are now considered "fine art" but highly so many skilled artists are ignored. Unfortunately, it's far worse than that. Many of Goldman's designs aren't just "borrowed" from others, they're direct copies. The victims list includes the webcomic "Purple Pussy", Roman Dirge's Lenore, the Neko computer program, and even Disney's SchoolHouse Rock cartoon.
Think that's bad? Just wait until you see
how much he makes from his theft.
Wikipedia reports that Goldman's site also sends an e-mail which libels the creator of "Purple Pussy" and directs minors to pornographic content without warning.
The art magazine
Juxtapoz has the
full story.
Devious Comments
And we should. Plagiarism is a SERIOUS concern for anyone who makes art. What people like Goliath do makes a mockery of the very IDEA of creation, regardless of how one feels about the original work.

The whole thing is sort of appalling and I think that the larger art community should do something.
As far as taking action in regards to theft, you should visit You Thought We Wouldn't Notice, a website dedicated to catching corporate art theft.

Critiquing someone's prose or poetry is an awesome thing to do.
