FEATURES AND TIPS:
Though some people think that all nudity is automatically porn - there are a lot of stockers on deviantART that beg to differ. Being artistic in your stock can help remove that false labelling.
Granted, doing nude stock (or photography in general) isn't for everyone. Although it is a fantastic resource for figure artists and the like, you can do just as well in swimwear or underwear. You just need to be okay with getting your kit off in front of the camera (and of legal age). The decision is a big one so if you plan on doing nude or partial nude stock - really think it through first.
There are up-sides and down-sides to doing nude stock. You can be criticised for your appearance or complimented to the point where you don't even want to know what the people are REALLY doing with your stock (catch my drift?) or you can see some of the most glorious artwork come out of it and gain praise from the artists that use it - and it might make you want to do more in the future.
Weigh up the pros and cons before ever jumping nekkid in front of the camera, ask other people that have posed nude what their experiences have been like and most of all - only do it when you're good and ready!
TIPS FOR NUDE STOCK:

As with many other forms of stock - don't be afraid to try new things. A new perspective, light and shadows (figure artists love light-play), and if you can manage it without getting caught or arrested - even a few new locations
I am not condoning running around the park naked

If you're too shy to pose fully nude you can always drape a thin cloth or sheet over your important bits. It gives the photo a classic 'Greek/Roman' feel and saves you from baring all.

Use props. Think of all the old nude paintings. They used anything from a spear and shield to a bunch of grapes. They don't have to cover your parts, just use them for a point of focus or theme.

Get dirty! I don't mean roll around in the mud (though that would be cool). If you have paints handy or something that will stick to your skin that can be applied easily - become your own human canvass!

Usually have someone taking the photos for you? Set the camera on a tripod, put a seat or something similar where you would be in the photo, focus the camera on the seat then set to 'manual focus (MF)', remove the chair and set the timer. Wa-la. You're now you're own photographer

Set the scene! Don't just lay on your fluffy doona/quilt and act skanky in your lingerie or jocks. Prepare a location where you are going to take the photos (and make sure its in a place you won't have 'unwelcomed visitors' dropping in and seeing you in your birthday suit). You could have the usual 'flat space' with nothing in it or add random furniture to 'work with'. Lean against, lay on, hide behind or sit on... don't just look at the props how you would usually use them in everyday life.

*IF* we could add categories what would you like to see added?: Oh to have the power to make categories (or wield the banstick...

)!! What would happen to stock then? We've got a few ideas in mind but feel free to share yours - to make browsing and categorizing MUCH easier.
blank permissions for dA prints?!: It may not be a new thread but it is definitely a good one to keep an eye on. If you want to make prints out of art using stock - you need permission from the stocker. Did you know that?
