2008 Bulwer-Lytton fiction contest results are out

`SparrowSong:iconSparrowSong: reports, August 14
Bulwer-Lytton was best known for his purple prose and for originating several now cliched phrases, including 'it was a dark and stormy night,' 'the pen is mightier than the sword,' and 'the almighty dollar.'

Every year, San Jose State University holds the Bulwer-Lytton fiction contest for the worst opening line to a novel. Results are now out, and worth a read. Enjoy!

The Second Uncreativity Experiment

~StoneAnnexCipher:iconStoneAnnexCipher: reports, April 15, 2007
#Uncreativity is hosting the second Uncreativity Experiment TODAY, April 15.

The object of this activity is to get a group of people together to retype books of poetry word for word in the chatroom. In doing this, an entirely new work will be created as each line overlaps a line from a different poem.

Participants may enter the room at any time on April 15th. Once in the room, all participants should type from whatever book of poetry they have chosen and may do so at their leisure. Remember to type line by line so that other participants may overlap their poems with yours. Hellos and sidechat will not be tolerated if they become a repeated offense.

The second room, #UncreativityChat may be used for conversation relating to the poems in #Uncreativity.

The results of the Uncreativity Experiment will be uploaded as a pdf and receive posting time via a news article.
