I Am A Child

reports, 1d 45m agoMy little girl is so magical. With a smile she can brighten my world. The glow in her eyes when she tells one of her stories melts away all of the day's problems and concerns. For me, having a child and being able to participate in her life, watch her grow and absorb the wonders of the world, completes me as a human being.
For my latest journal feature I am presenting a visual essay on children -- works by DA artists that beg to ask the question, "Is there anything more pure, more magical than a child?" Breaking up the photos are lyrics from Neil Young's brilliant song about children, "I Am A Child." If you want to listen to Neil's song while viewing the essay, right click on [link]

Feature - 01 - Puppies & Pals
About This Feature: This is [officially] my very first feature on DA, both in the news, and at my DA page: Changing L.A.N.E.S.! Naturally, I played it safe, and went with an undeniable favorite--Puppies! There really were TOO many great puppy and dog pictures to choose from. Obviously, it's somewhere near-impossible to choose every photo I'd like to...so alas, these are my selections.
Not to worry, however--just stop by my page, and visit my 'favorites' page, where I have honored several more submissions with well-deserved favorites. You might consider doing a search [up top] for 'puppy' or 'dog' also, and discover the rest on your own? Good luck, and thanks for reading!

It's called 'Confessions of a "GAS MAN" from the Dog Pound' and includes two stories about the horrors inside pounds, and why we, as a community, need to speak out, and make a difference, in any small way, that we possibly can. I guess this, in part, is mine. Helping spread the word. And, I'll say this: these stories will come very close to breaking your heart.
