I'm working on a costume maker's magazine (probably called Costume Play), and it needs a lot of help! I know I definitely can't do this alone. x3
Soo..
About the magazine:
I guess I should start by saying why I started this magazine. :3 If you live in the U.S., you may have found that it's really rather difficult to get a cosplay or lolita magazine. And, if you do get one, it's almost always in Japanese (though many of us would like to be able to read Japanese

). You can probably see what gave me the idea for this magazine.
But I do want to stress that this magazine isn't just for cosplay. There's already a magazine in the U.S. called AniCoz (its first issue came out on May 11) that's only for cosplays. Costume Play (if anyone has a better name please let me know!) is a magazine for any costumers out there: makers of renaissance clothing, people who dress in lolita fashion, cosplayers of anything (not just anime or manga :3), and any other genres there may be.
I'm not sure how well it will do, so I'll sell the first issue online only. If it does do well, though, I'll be able to make more, hopefully on a regular basis, and it could become a real magazine. *gasp* That'd be awesome.
Contest
This contest is for anyone who makes costumes. n_n The magazine needs a costumer to feature (and you'll be in the first issue, too x3). The winner will get one of their costumes on the cover, an interview in the magazine, and more costumes shown along with the interview. Others will also be chosen to put in the magazine, but not featured. I'm not sure how the voting should go.. I'm thinking about having everybody vote, and having the one with most votes be featured and the runner-ups still have a spot in the magazine. :3
How to Enter
Send me a note titled 'Costumer Contest' with a link to your favorite costume in your gallery. I'll add you to the list of people who entered on my journal.
Rules
-You need to have made at least some portion of each of your costumes.
-The quality of your pictures have to be presentable (meaning not fuzzy, or too dark, etc.)
-I'm sorry, but you must have
more than two costumes in your gallery. ^^' It'd be a little weird if there was an interview about a costumer who's only made one costume, wouldn't it?
-And nothing inappropriate, please (in case someone was thinking of entering anything like that)
-If you don't follow the rules I may have to disqualify you. I don't like being strict, sorry. <.<
Prizes
I know it might not seem like much of a prize, though I hope it's okay.
First Place
-picture on the cover
-interview with more pictures
-copy of the magazine
Runner-Ups (Not sure how many yet, but quite a few. Each issue will have a section just for random costumers, and the runners up will be the ones in the first issue. :3 )
-picture in the magazine
-some info along with the picture
Deadline
June 1st
I may make it later if there aren’t enough entries, but I hope I won't need to. x3

Other Help Needed
If anyone would like to write anything for the magazine please note me! Any help would be greatly appreciated. ^____^
For writers
-a brief description of cosplay (meaning no more than half a page)
-a brief description of lolita (meaning no more than half a page)
-------Both of these will probably be put at the beginning of each magazine (if it gets past the first issue x3). Please don't plagiarize anything!! It wouldn't be very nice.
-an article about something about costumes (tell me any ideas you'd like to do)
----another article if anyone feels up to it x3
You'll definitely have your name with your article, but I can't afford to give everyone a copy of the magazine. T-T I hope you don't mind!
For people who've made tutorials
The magazine's going to have a how-to section each issue, and I was wondering if anyone would like to submit a tutorial they've made. ^^ Anything to do with costumes or cosplay is good (like wig styling, fake weapon making, a certain sewing technique). If you don't get picked for this issue you can always be in another. n_n
~Thanks in advance for anyone who'll help!

I really need it. And I hope we can get Costume Play to be a real magazine. *fingers crossed* I’ll keep updated information in my journal. :3

And I think that idea would actually make a really good article, like someone talking about what you need to know and do to get started making costumes. :3
