It is time to announce the winners of the 2007 Best Comment Award.
The standard of the entries was very high throughout and all four of the judges spent many hours considering each comment and the work to which it referred in order to arrive at a category winner. My thanks goes out to them for judging this contest so diligently and professionally. Please send them your love, flowers and chocolate biscuits.
Here are the category winners. Each shall receive £20 for writing what was judged to be the best comment of the past twelve months in their category.

In my humble opinion the most accomplished comment of all these entries was this effort
[link] by `
diamondie, which was simply the more comprehensive and constructive, going into great detail and drawing on her own expertise. Whilst the other entries were also excellent I felt this one was the most worthy of the top prize.
A total prize of £100 goes to her.
Many entries featured below were also mentioned by the judges as being very well written and helpful. Whilst they receive no cash prize, they shall be mentioned below. Much kudos to these participants too.

......artistic flair and style are things that must be explored, not learnt.

Critiquing someone's prose or poetry is an awesome thing to do.

It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girl dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
