First place winner =raneen is 20 years old and lives in Israel.
"I always loved art in general and when I joined DA, I realised I love photography and I wanted to make something about it. So I bought a good camera and I learned from great deviants on DA and improved alot from my first few deviations! Nowadays I am a "DA addict"! I mostly love macro shots. I also love nature and I use my camera to show others how I see the world, from my point of view. Art is a global language and we should use it wisely".

Our second place winner ~worldly-goods has an amazing interest in photography and loves punk rock.
She states that she loves how photography can capture moments and freeze them in time, but also how it can fool you into believing something (good or bad) that isn't true. It helps you to communicate feelings and ideas in a fun way without having to know exactly what you mean. She was inspired by nature springing up around her and how lush the world could be (even if it's only in her backyard). She used a Konica Minolta DiMAGE X60 to take her photo. She gives the following advice as an inspiration "Don't throw out a wonderful picture because you don't think it's good enough".

Our third place winner ~Glori305's gallery exemplifies what art and craft is all about. Her hand painted pieces, including pendants, eggs, and sculptures are executed with great skill, elegance and an eye for colour and form. She says "I am a varied artist (read as highly distractable) and polymer clay is my latest obsession. I have been working with polymer clay for a little over 2 years My original love was drawing which I have done all my life. I have also worked with traditional clay, some weaving, alot of sewing and a little beading".

To conclude...
I would like to thank everyone who entered, you all made this a thoroughly enjoyable (though tough) experience for myself and the other judges.

We had over 87 entries, and all to a very high standard, which made judging very hard indeed. I would like to think however, that the choices we made truly embody the theme of Spring. I would like to state that all the entries were judged, not on artistic merit, or technical ability, or even current fashion, but that the content embodied and expressed the theme of 'Spring has Sprung'.
