FavShare is proud to announce a new initiative that aims to encourage more interaction between the disciplines of visual arts and literature. We aim to smash the conceptions that visual artists don't read literature, and that writers of poetry and prose don't have an appreciation of good art. How are we planning to do that? Read on and find out!
Who is your favourite?
The concept of
FavShare is simple. Visual artists sharing their favourite literature, and writers sharing their favourite pieces of art. Sound simple? Well it is! Here's how it goes:
For the visual artists:

Run through your friend's favourites, until you find a piece of literature.

Note us with the piece.

Find another!
For the writers:

Run through your friend's favourites until you find a piece of art.

Note us with the piece.

Find another!
And for those of you with a penchant for both writing and the visual arts, alternate between the two!
Who can participate?
Literature loving visual arts people can submit any piece they want from any gallery at any time. But so that we here at FavShare can maintain a small amount of order, and prevent a massive notes overflow from the visual arts loving literature community, we've decided to break the visual arts up into three different sections. If you are a writer who is suggesting a piece of visual art from your friend's favourites, take note:
WE WILL ONLY BE TAKING SUGGESTIONS OF FAVOURITES THAT FALL INTO THE CATEGORY OF THE MONTH. Anything else will be disregarded. The order is:
1st Month: Suggestions of literature from the Traditional and Digital Art Galleries.
2nd Month: Suggestions of literature from the Manga/Anime, Cartoons/Comics and Anthro Galleries
3rd Month: Suggestions of literature from the Photography, Customization, Design/Interfaces, Artisan crafts and Flash Galleries.
...and then back to the start. Please wait for a specific gallery's month before suggesting a piece from that gallery.
See? It's easy! We'll feature every suggestion in our journal, along with a list of all the participating deviants. That way, if you're ever in need of a good read/look, there's a constantly fresh list awaiting your perusal.
Wait, is that it?
Ah, you're a clever one. Nope, that's not quite the end of the story! In order to get people hungry for looking through favourites, we propose a bit of friendly rivalry. The kind that comes with an egg-and-spoon race, if you will. Every month we will be posting a news article telling you which gallery we will be accepting submissions from for the next month. In this news article we will also be posting
the tally of writer submitted pieces of art vs. artist submitted pieces of literature. That's right, you have the chance to represent your gallery in the
FavShare Olympics!
Awesome, I'll do it, where do I go?
Drop by our
page and read the journals, give us a watch if you reckon it's a good idea, tell your friends, but above all, get sharing!
