Hi guys! I know, I know. I'm fully aware that I'm complete rubbish at keeping up with these newsletters. Well, better late than never! Let's hop to it.

NEW NEWS:
As far as the category goes things are running smoothly, reports are being handled and plenty of new and talented deviants join in the C&C fun everyday. My special notepad of DD suggestions is nice and fat with both digital and traditional future DDs, which is really nice! That said, if I say I will DD something it will eventually get DDed, I promise. If I decide otherwise (which is very rare and only for extreme reasons) I will note you, the suggester, and letcha know.

FAQ #18: Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen?
It's very important that you do what you can to help us keep your favorite gallery running smoothly. That means pay attention to what category you're submitting your artwork to, ask questions or seek out the FAQ if in doubt and be sure you're contacting the correct gallery director! As much as I dig some fetish photography I can't DD any of it because I'm the "comics and cartoons" gallery director, not the fetish photography gallery director. Great DD suggestions can get lost in the confusion if you're not getting in touch with the right person. That said, I'll do my best to either forward it along or point you in the right direction if that happens.

And stop apologizing for "bothering" me! You're not bugging me with your note, I assure you! I'm here to be poked about DDs so please poke away!

There's oodles of contests out there right now! In C&C there's two pretty awesome ones happening as we speak. (Click the titles.)

CEREAL AND PAJAMAS ‘BACK OF THE BOX’ Pin-up Contest

~LightBombMike is just one of the many amazing and super talented artists and fellow deviants involved with this huge 120+ fully colored page project. Most of us remember how great Saturday morning cartoons used to be and this book is meant to rekindle that fire of awesomeness with a grown-up twist. Make sure you read the rules and stipulations, oggle the excellent prizes (getting your work published!) and check out the links provided. Interviews with the artists involved are currently underway and will be published in future C&C articles.

This book isn't going to be released until August, that's 15 weeks, guys! So no excuses, that's plenty of time to get in your entry in!

misskittyoooo's "Can you make comics like a pro?" Contest

To quote the article, this contest is open to all comic artists of eastern and western styles and everything in between! It's a challenge issued to everyone who enters to use their imaginations, pull out all the stops and create a professional looking comic page. Make sure you stop by and read the accompanying journal for all the rules, guidelines and prize information HERE! The deadline is June 1st. Again, plenty of time to get your entries in!

PROJECTS:
There's lots and lots of projects floating around as well. If you or a buddy is currently putting something together in the Comics and Cartoons category please let me know! That way I can help spread the word and hopefully bring in more people to participate.

As I said in my AR Newsletter update, `youthculture is being a secretive ninja and has got a fabulous project in the making. But it's not quite ready to be released out into the wilds of dA just yet so keep your eyes peeled for more information on that in future articles!

*JerMohler is the mastermind behind The World of Baeg Tobar, a huge multi-artist/writer collaboration. Several incredibly in-depth story lines come together to create one world centered around mythological concepts, natural science and technology. Jeremy wishes to open up that world to more people through deviantART. *BaegTobar is the gathering ground for BT-related artwork. He and I are also working on special BT-related interviews with the artists and writers that are here on dA. Newsletters are also in the making so please keep an eye out for those. Missing out on such an awesome community would be a shame! For those curious there's also a forum set up for Baeg Tobar and three other wonderful projects at The Tangled Muse.
